Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky were married on Saturday in a lavish ceremony on the 50-acre Astor Courts estate in Rhinebeck, New York. Despite rumors of a mass of celebrities attending the event, few were actually spotted at the ceremony. Oprah Winfrey was notably absent and the Obamas, unsurprisingly, were not on the guest list.

Actors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, former secretary of state Madeleine Albright and former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe were about it as far as notable names in the audience went.
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton is, of course, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, 32, is the son of former U.S. Representatives Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky of Pennsylvania and Ed Mezvinsky of Iowa. A very political wedding indeed!
Chelsea Clinton’s wedding dress for the ceremony was created by Vera Wang, while mom Hillary Clinton wore a gown by Oscar de la Renta. Mezvinsky wore a yarmulke and a tallit prayer shawl during the interfaith ceremony. Clinton is Methodist and Mezvinsky is Jewish.
“Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends,” the Clintons said in a press statement. “We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family.”
