Right Now In Nashville: The CMA Awards! With Lil Wayne?

No limos available in Nashville tonight, as the 42nd Annual Country Music Awards are about to begin on ABC! Watch parties are in full swing as Nashville awaits our annual late fall tradition. Tonight’s lineup includes an unusual guest, however, it’s hard core rapper Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne’s a fab talent, and he’s gonna join Kid Rock onstage for a duo! The two previously performed together at MTV’s Video Music Awards in September singing Kid Rock’s countrified “All Summer Long.” Snarkista would say it’s must-see tv!

Shania Twain is rumored to make an appearance as well- she’s been absent from the scene for quite awhile, especially since her recent divorce from reclusive hubby Robert “Mutt” Lang. The LA Times is live-blogging and handicapping the awards, so check in and see how well they do!

The CMA awards are really a week-long event in Nashville; performing rights management organizations BMI, ASCAP and SESAC give their annual songwriter and producer awards during the days before the big night. Last night, BMI gave Hank Williams Jr. its ICON award for extraordinary musical achievement. It puts Hank one step closer to membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

So tune in and watch a star-filled night! We’ll all be here trying to stay out of the limo gridlock.
