Chaz Bono and girlfriend Jennifer Elia are officially engaged! The couple has been planning on getting married for a while now but Chaz finally made it official by giving Jennifer a ring. The proposal was shown last night in a one-hour special called “Being Chaz,” a follow-up to “Becoming Chaz” (the Emmy-nominated documentary that followed Chaz’s transgender process).

The pair has actually been engaged for the past two years but wanted to put off getting married until Chaz finished his transgender process. Not to mention his six-week run on Dancing With the Stars which no doubt put increased stress and time constraints on the couple.

Jennifer, who identifies as bisexual, told CNN’s Piers Morgan that she finds her fiance more attractive as a man.

Kirstie Alley hits the floor on DWTS

Usually when couples mess up on Dancing with the Stars, it’s the stars who are to blame, but this week one of the professionals, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, fell while holding partner Kirstie Alley, and dropped her on the floor.

Maksim suffered a charley horse early on in the routine, and the pain in his leg caused him to collapse, taking Kirstie down with him. The two did manage to recover, though, and after getting decent marks from the judges, Kirstie tweeted that she was honored to be Maksim’s partner, calling him a “gladiator” and a “champion.” Well, we’ll see if he’s got enough gladiator in him to propel them to DWTS champions.

Jennifer Grey downplays surgery

Dancing with the Stars winner Jennifer Grey is going to have to have surgery on her back, after participating in the show aggravated an old injury she suffered in a car accident in 1987. Grey ruptured a disc in her spine during the exceptionally demanding training schedule for DWTS, but instead of slowing down and putting her health first, she continued to dance with the ruptured disc and went on to win.

Now she’s going to have to have surgery, but says it’s no big deal because she’ll be home the same night, and the doctors have told her it won’t be significant compared to other surgeries she’s had in the past.

Not only is it good news that Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough won Dancing with the Stars this week, it may have also saved Americans from having to defend themselves against rioting in the streets. Public disdain for Bristol Palin‘s inexplicable advancement in the competition, despite her sheer lack of skill, was reaching fever pitch in the run-up to the final on Tuesday.

What made it worse was that Bristol said she hoped she would win, not because she thought she was the best dancer, but because she wanted to give a big middle finger to all the haters. Turns out the middle finger got given back to her, as she got knocked down to third place. Jennifer Grey was dancing with a ruptured spinal disc, and she still managed to do better than Bristol Palin.

Suspicion and anger are growing as to why Bristol Palin continues to remain a contender on Dancing with the Stars, despite the fact that she’s a terrible dancer and is consistently given the lowest scores every week. Palin is still in the running to win the entire competition, a prospect which some say is due to her mother pulling some strings.

Sarah Palin, of course, denies meddling in any DWTS affairs, but as people get angrier and angrier at Bristol Palin’s continued presence on the show, things are coming to the breaking point. One Wisconsin man already lost his mind with rage over Bristol Palin’s lack of talent, and destroyed his television with a shotgun after watching this week’s show.

Margaret Cho sent home from Dancing with the Stars

Her name wasn’t Lola, and she’s no longer a show girl – comedienne Margaret Cho and her partner Louis van Amstel were eliminated from the competition on Dancing with the Stars last night. They danced the samba to “Copacabana” by Barry Manilow, and frankly, the judges were not impressed – the couple scored only 18 points out of a possible 30, the lowest score of the night. Cho burst into tears when she learned that she and van Amstel did not earn enough votes to make it to next week, but she recovered with a couple of jokes about being a “real dancer” and then made her graceful exit. What was to blame for their failure? Probably Cho’s schedule, as she was doing her comedy tour at the same time as trying to rehearse her dance, and it seemed from the clips they showed that it was all a little too demanding on her time.

There seems to be some confusion over the cause of some off-camera booing that happened on Dancing with the Stars last night. After Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough finished their dance and retired to the dancers’ lounge to speak with Brooke Burke about their performance, booing was heard from the direction of the auditorium… which was where host Tom Bergeron was setting up to interview Sarah Palin, who was there to support her daughter, Bristol Palin. Questions about the booing were neatly side-stepped, leading many viewers to believe that Palin had been the target of the vitriol. ABC executives claim that the audience were simply reacting to unpopular scores given by the judges, and that Palin had nothing to do with the booing. When the interview with Sarah Palin actually started, the audience had settled down and clapped politely. If they were booing Sarah Palin, why wouldn’t they keep booing when she was actually on camera?

Dancing With the Stars Cast and Pairings Announced

The new season 11 Dancing with the Stars cast and pairings were announced Tuesday on Good Morning America. As usual, the cast ranges from the mundane to the bizarre and we’re left wildly anticipating what kind of crazy drama we’ll be seeing this season on DWTS.

DANCING WITH THE STARS season 11 cast (ABC)

Audrina Patridge & Tony Dovolani: We can’t help but wonder if Audrina might turn out to be the Kate Gosselin of this season of DWTS. Oh the horror!

Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy: We love Maxim and we’ve got the feeling Brandy can shake it. So we’re very interested to see how this pairing is going to pan out.

David Hasselhoff & Kym Johnson: Kym, we’re sorry. Just, yeah, we’re sorry.

Florence Henderson & Corky Ballas: This is the Buzz Aldrin pairing for this year. You know Florence is probably not going to be the hottest dancer, but she’ll get the “awwwhhh isn’t the old person cute” votes.

Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough: You know we love this one! Bring on the Dirty Dancing Baby!

Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya: Athletes often do well on DWTS, especially when paired with Anna, so this could be a good match.

Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer: They’re young, cute and probably going to be darlings of the crowd.

Margaret Cho & Louis Van Amstel: We like the funny girls on DWTS, but we seriously doubt Cho’s ability to dance around anything but words.

Michael Bolton & Chelsie Hightower: We think Bolton has a deal with devil to continue looking like he does as his age. Maybe his deal includes dancing, we’ll have to wait and see.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino & Karina Smirnoff: They’ve got the sex appeal (if you like that greasy, smarmy thing he has going), so they could be a hot couple on the dance floor. Or, if his attitude wins out, a complete wreck.

Rick Fox & Cheryl Burke: Interesting pairing, athletic and sexy. This could turn out to be a strong couple to watch.

Dancing With the Stars season 11 premieres Monday, September 20 on ABC.

Bristol Palin Joins Dancing With the Stars Cast?

The next season of Dancing With the Stars looks like it is going to continue the tradition of having the weirdest reality show cast on television. Not only will the next season allegedly feature such weirdoes as drunken David Hasselhoff and crazy Jersey fiend The Situation, we’ll also be forced to watch former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin‘s daughter hit the dance floor.

That’s right; it looks like Bristol Palin may be desperately clinging to her 15 minutes of fame on the new season of Dancing With the Stars. This is almost as bad a casting decision, in our opinion, as signing on Kate Gosselin last time around. Although, frankly, it’s difficult to believe anyone could suck as badly as Gosselin did.

Along with David Hasselhoff, The Situation and Bristol Pain, other rumored Dancing With the Stars cast members include Audrina Patridge and Brandy. While Kirstie Alley was also rumored to be signed on for the next season, E! Online says that bit of gossip is not true. As for ABC, a rep says the network does not comment on casting rumors.

The official Dancing With the Stars cast will be announced Monday, Aug. 30 on ABC during Bachelor Pad.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Erin Andrews Feud Ends in Tears!

A tearful Elisabeth Hasselbeck apologized to Erin Andrews on Wednesday for making a crass joke about the peephole video stalker that terrorized the ESPN sportscaster not long ago. Hasselbeck said she was “really sorry” about her rude commentary regarding Erin Andrews’ skimpy outfits on Dancing With the Stars.

On Tuesday, Elisabeth Hasselbeck made light of the Erin Andrews peephole video stalker incident by joking that the guy should have just “waited 12 weeks” to see the ESPN sportscaster in her skimpy outfits on Dancing With the Stars. Michael David Barrett, who leaked nude video of Erin Andrews shot through hotel door peepholes onto the Net, was convicted in March of interstate stalking and sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.

“In light of what happened… and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room… I mean, in some way if I’m him,” Hasselbeck said Tuesday on The View, “I [would be] like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less — without the prison time!’”

Erin Andrews told Access Hollywood the comments by Hasselbeck left her in tears. Andrews’ DWTS partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, called Hasselbeck “stupid” and “jealous” for making such nasty remarks.

On Wednesday, Hasselbeck got teary-eyed while she related having to tell her daughter she had “hurt someone’s feelings” with her words. Hasselbeck said she called Erin Andrews to apologize for being a royal bitch. Okay, the royal bitch part is our words – sorry if it hurts your feelings Elisabeth.
