David Cassidy arrested for DUI, swears he wasn’t drunk

Here’s the evidence against David Cassidy: he was pulled over by police for erratic driving, there was a half-empty bottle of bourbon found in the vehicle, and he failed not one but TWO breathalyzer tests.  Nonetheless, he claims that he hadn’t been drinking, and that his freestyle driving technique was due to a pain pill and general tiredness.

Even if that story is true, which it’s probably not, what on earth made him think that driving on pain pills when he was drowsy was acceptable?  It’s not about whether alcohol was the specific cause – the point is not to drive under the influence of anything that can affect your ability to drive safely.  If he had somewhere he needed to be that badly, he should have taken a taxi or gotten a friend to drive him.
