Jennifer Hudson Welcomes New Baby Boy

Jennifer Hudson and fiancé David Otunga welcomed a new baby boy to the family on Monday. David Daniel Otunga Jr. was named after his father and weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces.

Former American Idol contestant and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé are “ecstatic” over the birth of their first child. “The baby is beautiful and perfect,” Hudson’s publicist said in a statement to the press.

Jennifer Hudson never discussed her pregnancy in the public eye, even after it became obvious she was expecting. Harvard Law graduate David Otunga proposed to Hudson on her 27th birthday, less than six months after they began dating. Ortunga is currently a wrestler for Florida Championship Wrestling.

In October of 2008, Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason and nephew Julian King were shot and killed in Chicago. William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia, is the primary suspect in the murders. He is currently being held in jail awaiting trial.

Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson’s boyfriend of less than a year, reality TV personality David “Punk” Otunga, popped the question Friday night in LA. Jennifer, who won an Oscar for her role in the movie/musical “Dreamgirls”, was in the hit film “Sex And The City”, and will be seen in the upcoming “The Secret Life Of Bees”, got an extra-special 27th birthday present!

David is known as “Punk” on the reality show “I Love New York 2”. He and Jennifer have been dating for less than a year, but Jennifer’s rep confirmed to People that “Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in Los Angeles”.

David gave Jennifer an engagement ring from Neil Lane. Nice! Congrats to the happy couple.
