J.J. Abrams confirmed to direct Star Wars. Disney confirmed the news late yesterday evening. “I’ve consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller,” said Star Wars creator George Lucas. “He’s an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn’t be in better hands.”

No, There’s no Star Wars TV Show. Yet.

There’s been a rumor flying around the George Lucas is just sitting on 50 episodes of a Star Wars TV show that’s already been shot and is ready to go. But Lucas recently clarified – that’s totally not the case. Apparently the misinformation was based on a mis-quote of something he said related to the potential show. Lucas stated that he had 50 scripts for the show ready to go but they haven’t progressed beyond that.

Lucas mentioned that he was “waiting for a different type of technology we can use so it’s economically feasible to shoot the shows.” Hm … wonder what that means and what he’s planning to shoot that would be so expensive! Time will tell and hopefully it’s sooner rather than later!
