Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs, Lauren’s parents, said their daughter had been flying around looking at Christmas lights. Jeff Scruggs told Good Morning America tuesday that he believes Lauren went to thank the pilot after exiting the plane and walked into the propeller in the dark. Scruggs lost her hand and suffered severe head injuries, including damage to the left side of her face and her left eye.

“It sounds like this is a combination of a bad procedure by the pilot and the passenger not properly realizing her proximity,” aviation consultant John Nance said, according to ABC. “One of the things I’d have to look at is why in the world a pilot permitted a passenger to board or de-board while a propeller was turning.”

Lauren Scruggs underwent multiple surgeries over the weekend and is currently recovering in stable condition. A spokesperson for the family told ABCNews.com the extent of injury to her brain is still unknown.

“Yesterday was a good day, there was a lot of really positive progress,” Jeff Scruggs, Lauren’s father, said on Good Morning America. “They took out her tube in the afternoon. She didn’t speak right away… I said Lauren will you say ‘hi’ to Daddy, and she goes, ‘hi.’ Later she told one of Cheryl’s sisters that she loves her. It’s so encouraging to us. She’s really uncomfortable as you can imagine.”

“They’re telling us it’s going to be a long recovery,” Jeff Scruggs said. “Obviously she’s had a lot of trauma to her head, and she lost her left hand and her left eye is questionable. We’re praying she’ll regain her sight.”

“The photos of Blake Lively which have just surfaced on various websites including Perez Hilton and Zaptoit are 100 percent fake,” Lively’s rep told Us Weekly.

The Blake Lively nude pics that her reps now say are “100% fake” were taken with a cell phone. In four of the pictures, the phone partially obscures the woman’s face. In the fifth, the face is too blurry to make out well — very typical of faked celebrity photos. 

“Blake has never taken nude photos of herself. Blake will persuade legal action against the publication which initially published these photographs and any other outlets that republish them in any manner,” her rep stated.

Blake Lively, meanwhile, has been enjoying herself overseas in the French Rivera with Leonardo DiCaprio. According to the latest rumor mill, the newly single DiCaprio has been introducing Lively as his ‘girlfriend’.

On one hand, she could join Mila Kunis and James Franco for the remake of The Wizard of Oz (she’s looking at the role of Glinda), or she could star in the new Oliver Stone movie and do something serious and gritty.  Oz will probably net her more cash, but the Oliver Stone project sounds more interesting.

Momsen is reportedly concentrating on her music career at the moment anyway, so it’s no great loss for her, and considering what a disruption she is to the rest of the Gossip Girl crew, I don’t think they’re going to miss her very much.  Jenny Humphrey is a popular character, though, so it’ll be interesting to see what this announcement does to Gossip Girl’s ratings.

I guess they wanted to prove to everyone how professional they could be, but it must be incredibly difficult having to go to work everyday and hang out with your ex.

The CW has been airing promos for the episode teasing viewers with hints about a “3SOME” between three unidentified characters on the show. Gossip Girl has previously come under fire from the organization for ads showing the show’s characters skinny-dipping, making out and cuddling in bed together, accompanied by headlines proclaiming: “A Nasty Piece of Work” and “Mind-Blowingly Inappropriate.”

In a letter to CW affiliates, the PTC asks: “Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?”

“To include a story line like this on a program that is expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers is reckless and irresponsible.  I appeal to your highest sense of decency, respect and common sense in urging you to preempt this episode,” the letter continues.

“CW has been defending graphic content on Gossip Girl by asserting that they don’t target teenagers,” PTC president Tim Winter said in a press statement. “Such a claim doesn’t even pass the ‘laugh test.’”

While we agree The CW’s claim the show is not marketed to teenagers is a bit of a stretch, we also think the PTC is being a bunch of whiny bitches. If you don’t want your teens watching Gossip Girl, then click over to that TV ratings blocker thingy on your cable box and nuke it. Not that they won’t watch it online or somewhere else anyway.

Smutty TV is here to stay, because obviously people want to watch it. If you don’t want your kids acquiring their moral values about sex from their favorite TV show, there is another alternative. Talk to them yourself. Probably a lot more useful than sending pointless letters out to the media no one is going to take seriously.

Lindsay Lohan is skinny again, and you know what that means. Snarkista doesn’t care how many Big Macs Lindsay says she eats, she’s washing them down with the cokey-coke. Not the all-American kind, the Colombian kind. And this is why her gaydar is obviously broken.

La Lohan was out late in New York night before last, skanking around as usual. She heard that Gossipy Girl Chase Crawford was hanging at Justin Timberlake’s restaurant Southern Hospitality. Chase was with fellow pretty-boy Emile Hirsch having some drinks. Lindsay instantly went into stalker mode and busted up in there uninvited…and caused a scene. Chase and Emile were not amused, and high-tailed it out of there!

This would be a clear sign to sane girls that “He’s Just Not That Into You Especially Since You’re A Girl.” But this is Lohan we’re talking about. Brainiac thought it would be a good idea to follow the boys to Chase’s house at 6 a.m. Once again, denied! Chase’s peeps did not let her in.

Lohan either finally got the hint, or forgot what her purpose was, or got distracted by something shiny because she FINALLY quit trying and went home. All the way to California.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is PISSED that people have been comparing her to Paris Hilton! Blake plays a socialite on the super-popular show, and has much better taste than La Hilton. Blake’s third from the left in the new Vanity Fair piece on Young Hollywood.

“Since I have a dog and blond hair, that must mean we’re alike. It’s a dumb thing to say. I don’t think that makes us similar,” Lively said. “I don’t know her, but I don’t like being compared to anyone by somebody who doesn’t know me. I’m my own person. I don’t go to clubs, I don’t party, I don’t dance on tables and I don’t like sex tapes.”

Ouch! Snarkista would be pissed too. Blake is to Paris as Angelina is to Heidi Montag. Even Paris didn’t enjoy the “reality” show success that Lively has. Paris HAS been in z-list movies House of Wax and The Hottie and the Nottie. Tres Bourgeois. Blake thankfully hasn’t put out an “album” either, or sold bazillions of pornos! No pics of Blake gyrating essentially naked in a champagne glass have surfaced. Paris may be a quasi-socialite, but Blake is the one with the better taste. Snarkista is praying it stays that way.

Tommy and “Kate” Cruise were there, in Armani. Several of the Gossip Girl cast attended as well, including Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley. Penn was supposed to be the show’s breakout hunk, but Chace seems to have eclipsed him- even though Penn’s film work includes the provocative yet acclaimed independent feature “The Fluffer”!

Despite Penn’s provocative work, Tommy Girl brushed him aside in his rush to get next to Chace! Apparently, Tommy’s a BIG fan of the show! Oh, and Kate is too. You know, because they both love watching cute boys great acting. Tommy and co. dissed the rest of the cast, and only talked to Chace- leaving Penn pissed. This was supposed to be PENN’s big night, not a Chacefest! Adding insult to injury, Chace was the only one invited to George Clooney’s exclusive afterparty!

You KNOW Tommy slipped Chace his digits ‘cuz Chace is single now! Carrie Underwood got tired of his party-hopping, cabana boy bromance with JC Chasez. And, if you put your hands over your ears, “Chace” sounds alot more like “Kate” than “Penn” does. Tommy’s crazy, but careful!
