Rapper Heavy D died of a pulmonary embolism, a Los Angeleas Coroner’s office report released on Tuesday revealed. Heavy D (real name: Dwight Arrinton Meyers), died at the age of 44 on November 9th after collapsing outside of his Beverly Hills condo.
According to police, Heavy D was returning from a shopping trip on the morning of November 7th when he began having difficulty breathing. Designer Adam Mills, who was in the building and knew the rapper, said he found Heavy D outside the building in severe distress. According to TMZ.com, Mills held the rapper in his lap while 911 was called and said the hip-hop star was conscious and kept saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.”
