It’s about time this happened – after fantastic musical performances in Crazy Heart in 2009, EMI has finally given actor Jeff Bridges a much-deserved recording contract, and he’s going to release an album of songs later this year. Â According to the EMI press release, the album will not only contain cover songs, but will also feature a few of Jeff’s original compositions.
Among the covers, Jeff is expected to be recording songs by Tom Waits, John Goodwin, Greg Brown, and Bo Ramsey. Â The album is slated for a late summer release, though obviously we’ll get some songs leaked to the internet well before then and Jeff will be doing promotional performances here and there.
