Former American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson and wrestler David Otunga already have one child together, David Daniel Otunga Jr., born in August. A source reported as a “close friend” of Hudson and Otunga reportedly told Star Magazine the singer was a bit surprised by her unexpected Christmas present.

“Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby,” the source said. “She had wanted some space between the kids’ ages. [But] she and David love kids. It’s another thing for them to celebrate during the holidays.”

Until Hudson or Otunga confirm the pregnancy rumors, we’ll take this ‘source’ and their speculations with a hefty grain of salt. But if it is true, we offer our congrats to the happy couple!

Jennifer Hudson and fiancé David Otunga welcomed a new baby boy to the family on Monday. David Daniel Otunga Jr. was named after his father and weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces.

Former American Idol contestant and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé are “ecstatic” over the birth of their first child. “The baby is beautiful and perfect,” Hudson’s publicist said in a statement to the press.

Jennifer Hudson never discussed her pregnancy in the public eye, even after it became obvious she was expecting. Harvard Law graduate David Otunga proposed to Hudson on her 27th birthday, less than six months after they began dating. Ortunga is currently a wrestler for Florida Championship Wrestling.

In October of 2008, Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason and nephew Julian King were shot and killed in Chicago. William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia, is the primary suspect in the murders. He is currently being held in jail awaiting trial.
