Jennifer Love Hewitt Not Joining Law & Order: SVU

Rumor has been going around that former Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt was in line to take over from Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVUas the female lead. Hargitay will be reducing her role significantly mid-season and star Christopher Meloni has announced he will not be coming back for another season. Unfortunately for Hewitt, however, it seems her new role has proven as ghostly as her former spiritual contacts.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was allegedly in the running to take over from Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU as part of a revamped cast for the show. Even the Huffington Post got in on the speculation, saying that Jennifer Love Hewitt was in possible casting consideration.

According to Deadline.com, Jennifer Love Hewitt will definitely not be one of the new cast members coming on board to freshen up the show. You gotta feel bad for the girl. I mean, she’s already had to endure being voted the worst actress since 1985. With Christopher Meloni leaving, we’re pretty sure they will probably opt to bring in at least one new strong male lead.

Mariska Hargitay will still be around part-time at least and Ice-T announced via Twitter on Friday that he will “officially be back for the next 2 years at least.” So we may still not know who the noobs will be coming on board, but at least we’ll have a few old-timers sticking around to keep the fans happy.

Old Christine, Ghost Whisperer Cancelled by CBS

The New Adventures of Old Christine and Ghost Whisperer cancelled! In rather a shocking move to fans, CBS has reportedly decided to cancel both Ghost Whisperer and The New Adventures of Old Christine from their new lineup. Fans of Medium can rest easy, however, that show is among those renewed by the network for another season.

Also cancelled by CBS were Gary Unmarried, Cold Case, Miami Medical, Accidentally on Purpose and Numb3rs. Rules of Engagement was among the shows given a shot for one more season.

The cancellation of Ghost Whisperer is perhaps the most surprising move. While the show has never had really huge ratings, it has consistently been the winner in its Friday night time slot.

Some sources are speculating that Old Christine might be picked up by ABC as the network has previously expressed interest in picking up the series. Ghost Whisperer, however, may well be gone for good.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Has A Stalker

Cutie-pie Jennifer Love Hewitt has really hit a rough patch lately. First, she and her fiance Ross McCall broke up over the holidays. THAT sucks by itself, but apparently J. Lo Hew’s been stalked by a real freak as well. The “Ghost Whisperer” actress started receiving graphic letters from a 62 year-old guy named David Nolte, which described violent sexual fantasies. Disgusting!

Fortunately, Jen was granted a 3 year restraining order against Nolte. She REALLY got scared when he showed up at her mother’s house in December. Jennifer also believes this nutbag sold his home in Colorado so he could move to LA to be closer to her.

Nolte is now banned from going to the Universal Studios in Los Angeles, where Jennifer shoots the show, and was also ordered to stay away from her family and ex-fiancé Ross McCall. Maybe it’s time to start packing some heat too, Jennifer, …and give the dirty old man a peek atTHAT if he lurks around again!
