This afternoon, Judge Scott Gordon of Los Angeles County Superior Court set a May 6 trial date, despite the objections of Humphries’ legal camp. The NBA player has attempted to delay divorce proceedings since the former couple’s October 2011 split, attempting to gain an annulment on the grounds that his 72-day marriage to Kardashian was allegedly fraudulent.

Kris Humphries lawyers give up pursuing annulment from Kim Kardashian, video below. Even Kris Humphries’ soon-to-be ex-lawyer thinks Kris is abusing the legal system by fighting for an annulment from Kim Kardashian, TMZ reported. Sources say attorney Marshall Waller made it clear to his client that there are NO legal grounds for annulling his marriage to Kim, because there’s absolutely NO evidence of fraud.

Our sources say Waller and Kris reached an impasse … because Kris’ out-of-state attorney, Lee Hutton won’t budge from the whole annulment thing.  Waller filed legal docs Thursday asking the judge to get him out of the case. In Waller’s motion to be relieved as counsel, he zings Kris by saying they have “irreconcilable differences”.

Kris Humphries Refuses Kim Kardashian’s $10 Million Payoff To Settle Divorce

Kris Humphries refuses Kim Kardashian’s $10 million payoff to settle divorce.  According to RadarOnline.com, Kim tried to give Kris a generous settlement to end things for good, but he refused. “After Kim filed for divorce, she offered Kris a $10 million payoff, with the agreement that he would not continue to pursue an annulment to their marriage on the grounds of fraud. Kris flatly rejected the offer because it has never been about money for him,” the source says.

The insider explains why Kris is determined to show the marriage was a sham. “He wants to be able to marry in a church again, with a clear conscience, when he finds someone special. Kris is deeply religious and he believes that the only way he can do that is if his marriage to Kim is annulled.” Continue reading Kris Humphries Refuses Kim Kardashian’s $10 Million Payoff To Settle Divorce

Kim Kardashian and Kris: Shortest Marriage Ever?

Hollywood is famous for some extremely short-lived marriages. There was the Britney Spears married-in-Vegas fiasco; you may have forgotten J.Lo and Chris Judd’s seven month matrimony; but chances are you remember Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock’s five month dalliance! To this list (and there are many, many more celebs to be included) add Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Kim filed for divorce this morning, supposedly over differences of opinion on where the couple was planning to live. The Huffington Post reports that Humprhies wanted to set up shop in Minnesota while Kim wanted to be near her family in California. Did no one tell them to discuss this prior to their wedding? Which, by the way, took place a mere 72 days ago, on August 20th.

Their relationship – which started in December of last year – and wedding was highly publicized via Kim’s reality show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” but apparently during that time no one told the couple they should talk about crucial things like their ideas for the future.

Maybe it’s more than that, though – the couple has also been filming Kim’s new show: “Kourtney  & Kim take New York.” And if we’ve learned anything from Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, it’s that new marriages and reality TV don’t mix. Which makes it difficult for someone who’s co-opted her fame using the platform of, well, reality TV.
