Ashley Graham Lane Bryant Lingerie Ad Banned by ABC

Busty plus size model Ashley Graham was more than a bit pissed off when ABC decided to ban her Lane Bryant lingerie ad from playing during commercial breaks for Dancing with the Stars. ABC allegedly decided the commercial was too hot to be aired during DWTS.

“I was very surprised,” model Ashley Graham said of ABC’s decision not to play the Lane Bryant ad. “The first thing I thought of was Victoria’s Secret commercials, and how they’re just as racy, if not more racy, than Lane Bryant.”

The 25 second commercial shows Graham posing in various sexy lingerie with very prominent cleavage.

The ban of the commercial prompted Lane Bryant to accuse ABC of discriminating against plus sized models. Fox also reportedly rejected the ad multiple times, but claims it was because the company refused to make requested edits to the commercial, something they say they have asked of companies like Victoria’s Secret as well.

ABC issued a press statement calling BS on the accusations they were discriminating against full figured models by not airing the ad. “Their statements are not true,” ABC Vice President Julie Hoover said. “We were willing to accommodate them, but they chose to seek publicity.”

We agree with Graham that the Lane Bryant lingerie commercial is certainly not any racier than most Victoria’s Secret ads. Hell, it’s not even as racy as some of the scantily-clad numbers on Dancing with the Stars.

Fox has reportedly agreed to air The Lane Bryant lingerie commercial during American Idol next week.
