Producer Laurie David is vehemently denying a Star magazine report of an Al Gore affair with her that ruined his marriage. Al and Tipper Gore announced earlier this month they were separating after 40 years of wedlock. Star magazine claims an affair between Al Gore and Laurie David caused the split.
In the new issue of Star magazine, which hits stands on Wednesday, the tabloid claims producer Laurie David is the other woman behind Al and Tipper Gore’s separation.
“Star has learned that Al has been having an affair with Laurie, who divorced Seinfeld creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David in 2007 amidst reports she was cheating with the caretaker of their Martha’s Vineyard summer home,” a statement on StarMagazine.com says.
“Al and Laurie went from friends to lovers,” an insider allegedly told Star. “It couldn’t be avoided.” Laurie David worked with Al Gore on the 2006 Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
Laurie David denies any such affair ever happened, saying the Star report “is completely, patently false.” In a statement to Time.com, David said the rumor of an affair is “completely and totally untrue. I adore Al and Tipper and consider them part of my family. I’m in a committed relationship and couldn’t be happier.”
The National Enquirer, meanwhile, has their own theory. According to multiple anonymous sources – naturally – the Enquirer claims it was Tipper Gore’s jealous rage that tore them apart. However, a source allegedly told the Enquirer there has “never been any proof that Al had affairs.”

The upcoming Three Stooges movie is in the casting stages, and there are some amazing names in the running. Â The issue is, of course, that when you’re casting these three roles, they have to balance against each other – the three actors will have to be approximately the same age, and the same height. Â Basically what they’ll have to do is cast one of the roles, and then cast the other two actors around that.
