Lil Wayne is free, friends rejoice

Lil Wayne got released from prison this morning, after serving eight months of a one-year sentence for gun possession.  Twitter has been a-flutter this morning with Wayne’s friends and entourage tweeting their excitement about the release, and planning for the future.  Apparently the first plan is an official homecoming party, to be hosted Sunday at a stripper club somewhere in Miami.

There’s a lot of speculation about who’s going to be at that party, and even more speculation about how Lil Wayne might make his return to the stage.  There are rumors flying that he’s planning on stopping by Las Vegas for a surprise appearance during Drake’s scheduled concert on Saturday night, and Drake has hinted that the Saturday show will be a very special one, so there may be some truth to that.

Motley Black-and-Blue

Bad boys certainly do attract drama – Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crüe, has been accused of assaulting a woman in a Las Vegas hotel over Labor Day weekend.  The woman, Jessica Radovicz, was staying in the Las Vegas Hilton when she spotted Neil in an elevator.  Recognizing him, she asked him where she knew him from.  She claims Neil then grabbed her by the arms and threw her against the wall… for no reason.

Sound like BS?  That’s because it is.  Hotel security reviewed the elevator surveillance recordings, and apparently saw no such attack.  Local police agreed with the assessment, and the matter was dropped.  That’s not to say that Neil is a good boy, however – he’s already got a pending DUI charge and a destruction of property charge to deal with.  Perhaps Miss Radovicz saw an opportunity and decided to try to take advantage.  However, this is 2010, and she should have known that what happens in Vegas… can always be verified by camera
