Lindsay Lohan Arrest Warrant Issued for Possible Drinking Violation

An arrest warrant has been issued for actress Lindsay Lohan after her alcohol monitoring anklet indicated she may have violated court orders by drinking. Lohan has denied her SCRAM bracelet was activated and has not consumed alcohol.

A bench warrant for Lindsay Lohan was issued following reports her court-ordered alcohol monitoring bracelet went off during an MTV Movie Awards after party. Lohan was ordered to wear the SCRAM bracelet after missing several probation hearings stemming from earlier DUI arrests.

A slew of celebrity gossip sites, including us, reported Lohan’s SCRAM bracelet reportedly went off while she was attending singer Katy Perry‘s MTV Movie Awards after party. Lohan has denied the SCRAM bracelet went off and says she has not been drinking.

“My scram wasn’t set off-Its physically impossible considering I’ve nothing for it to go off-All of these false reports are absolutely wrong,” Lohan posted on her Twitter feed. “This is all because of a FALSE accusation by tabloids & paparazzi & it is f**king disgusting- I’ve been more than I’m compliance [sic] & feeling great.”

If the device is set off, it alerts a monitoring company, who then reports the violation to the Los Angeles Probation Department and the Beverly Hills Superior Court judge in Lohan’s case. Judge Marsha Revel will now have to find out whether the SCRAM bracelet did indeed detect alcohol in Lohan’s system and how to punish her for violating court orders if it did.

Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan‘s alcohol monitoring bracelet reportedly went off at a MTV Movie Awards party on Sunday. Lohan was attending pop singer Katy Perry‘s MTV Movie Awards after party when her SCRAM bracelet began flashing wildly.

“All of a sudden, her ankle bracelet started flashing furiously – bright red, fast flashes,” an unidentified source reportedly told Star magazine.

The ankle bracelet is supposed to alert if Lindsay Lohan consumes alcohol. Lohan was ordered to wear the bracelet last month after missing probation hearings over several DUI incidents. Even though the bracelet went off, however, it doesn’t necessarily mean Lohan was drinking.

“She wasn’t drinking or doing drugs that I saw,” the source told Star. A technician reportedly told the tabloid that the ankle bracelet could have gone off due to a “technical issue.”

We do hope it was just a glitch and Lohan wasn’t stupid enough to violate a court order she knows could land her in jail. Lohan is due in court again on July 6; let’s hope she can keep it clean at least until then!

Lindsay Lohan‘s ankle bracelet may be embarrassing for the struggling starlet, but the alcohol monitoring device may just be the best thing for her. The SCRAMx bracelet will check Lohan’s body every 30 minutes for traces of alcohol. If Lindsay Lohan doesn’t keep away from the liquor, she could end up in jail. We can only hope Lohan will take this as an opportunity to get back on the path to being clean and sober for good.

Lindsay Lohan’s ankle bracelet is part of a deal to keep the actress out of jail after missing a mandatory court appearance because she was allegedly trapped in Europe after losing her passport. (Yeah, we still don’t believe that one.)

Lohan has to wear the alcohol monitoring device at all times until at least her next court date on July 6th. She was also specifically ordered to refrain from drinking or doing drugs and will be forced to undergo random drug testing. Even under the threat of jail time, however, we wonder if Lohan can really keep herself from falling off the wagon yet again.

Although Lohan may protest that she’s doing just fine, it seems she is pretty much the only person in the world who thinks so. How many more reports of ridiculous behavior, accusations of criminal activity or photos of Lohan falling on her ass outside of nightclubs do we have to have before she realizes she has a serious problem?

Please Lindsay, get a clue and get the help you need. We don’t need to see any more young Hollywood stars landing themselves in an early grave.
