Lindsay Lohan promised that she would never take a plea deal for the necklace she is accused of stealing, because she didn’t do anything wrong and she wants to fight the charge. Â However, the more developments that happen in her case, the more it looks like she will be taking the plea deal after all. Â The judge has offered Lindsay three months in jail, which would be reduced to nineteen days due to overcrowding.
If Lindsay does not take the deal, it is likely that she would get not only state prison time for the necklace incident, but also another year in jail for violating her probation. Â All in all, it must be starting to sink in that the plea deal, however unfair, is probably her best option at this point.
A judge once again spared Lindsay Lohan the indignity of having to do jail time (I swear that girl is made of teflon), and has instead ordered that Lohan remain where she is, doing a rehab stint at the Betty Ford Center. Â This decision was made over numerous protests from the prosecutor that Lohan isn’t likely to learn her lesson unless she does some significant jail time, and that the fact that judges keep cutting her slack where they wouldn’t with others only reinforces Lohan’s belief that she can get away with anything because of her celebrity.
