Nicki Minaj leaves American Idol set after blow out audition fight with judges, video below. It was reported back in October that there was major drama on the Idol set, yet nobody knew what caused it until tonight when she show aired.  Tonight we got a feast of the big mouth who is Minaj.

The conflict began as Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban questioned contestant Summer Cunningham’s interest in country music. Minaj accused the trio of “picking her apart,” while the other judges insisted they just wanted to know more in order to help. “You’re right. I can’t help her,” replied Minaj sarcastically before storming off the set, saying, ”Maybe I should just get off the f**king panel… I’m over it.”

Child Protective Services visits Mariah

A misunderstanding in the gossip mill at the hospital where Mariah Carey had her twins prompted an investigation by CPS, just days after the babies were born.  One of the nurses at the hospital had advised Carey that drinking Guinness beer would help improve breastfeeding (because of the yeast, apparently), and someone misheard the conversation and reported to CPS that Carey had been drinking beer in the hospital while taking care of her children.

CPS thought the allegations were ridiculous, but nevertheless they felt compelled to check it out.  Of course, there was no beer to be found anywhere – the hospital doesn’t even allow it on their grounds.

Mariah names her twins

Oh, this is as predictably wacky as everyone expected – Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have named their new twin babies, and the names are leaving people scratching their heads.  They’ve named the girl Monroe, which I suppose isn’t all that bad, since Mariah has long been known to admire Marilyn Monroe, and Monroe Cannon does have a bit of a quirky ring to it.

But the boy… his name is Moroccan.  Moroccan Cannon.  Go ahead, I’ll wait while you say it out loud and let it sink in.  So far there’s been no explanation as to what this name is about – it has only been said that his middle name is Scott, which is not only Nick’s middle name, but also his grandmother’s middle name.  Let’s hope he ends up using his middle name, because Scott Cannon sounds pretty good to me.

Twins for Mariah Carey

The babies are finally here!  After several false alarms, Mariah Carey finally gave birth to twins on Saturday.  She didn’t think it was going to happen, though – on the ride to the hospital she was cool and collected, telling people that it was just another false alarm and that they shouldn’t get their hopes up.  The girl was born first, with her brother being born only a few seconds later.

Mariah and Nick have not chosen names yet, or if they have, they’re keeping very quiet about it.  The twins came along on the couple’s third wedding anniversary, and Nick said it was the best gift he ever received in his life.

Mariah has contractions but no babies

Singer Mariah Carey had to be rushed to the hospital due to premature contractions, but doctors got everything under control and sent Mariah home.  Mariah tweeted that she would have been happy to have the babies on the 27th, which is her birthday (or, as she bizarrely refers to it, her “anniversary”), but as it turned out it was not meant to be.

Carey is not due for a few weeks yet, and the babies are definitely better off at the moment where they are.  Early contractions are common, but Carey did the right thing by going to the hospital just to have everything checked out.  Mother and babies are both doing fine.

Simon Cowell talks about X-Factor

Simon Cowell recently discussed the names of who is and isn’t being considered as judges for his new X-Factor show, and he seems surprised about the rumors that are going around.  Most recently, the buzz has been all about Taylor Momsen, but not only does Simon say that she’s not being considered, he doesn’t even know who she is.  So that’s a no.

Apparently the potential candidates are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Jessica Simpson.  I’m not sure if any of those people sound particularly exciting, but then again I didn’t think Jennifer Lopez would be anything special on American Idol, and she’s turned out to be a pretty good judge, if not a little boring.  Maybe Jessica could bring a little of the ditziness we loved when she was on TV a few years ago.  That was pretty entertaining.

Nick Cannon talks about Mariah’s cravings

Mariah Carey is pregnant with twins, reportedly a boy and a girl, and her appetite has grown to match her double-baby bump.  Husband Nick Cannon spilled the beans (and rice and collard greens) about what his wife has been craving during her pregnancy, and details about her daily routine.

According to Nick, Mariah loves Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut cereal, and keeps a steady supply in the house for when she gets hungry.  She’s also been in a cooking mood, making elaborate southern dishes every night including smothered pork chops, collard greens, and pecan pie.  Nick claims that Mariah’s not actually eating all that food, though – jut making it and smelling it satisfies her cravings.
