Justin Bieber Paternity Suit Dropped

In a completely unsurprising turn of events, the paternity suit against Justin Bieber is dropped by the woman accusing him of fathering her child. Mariah Yeater withdrew her court paperwork but says she wasn’t withdrawing her claims that Bieber was the father of her baby. Rather, she said she “fears for her life” because of the suit. C’mon, Beliebers aren’t that crazy! Seems like Yeater’s a little off the rocker herself.

Instead, Yeater’s lawyers say they’re trying to settle out of court, doing the DNA test privately and working with Bieber’s counsel. Seventeen-year-old Bieber and his attorneys have denied the accusations, agreeing to a DNA test to put the claims to rest. Then, they’ve said they’ll turn around and sue Mariah.

Yeater was 19 at the time of the alleged sexual encounter and so could have faced statutory rape charges – Bieber was only 16 at the time of the alleged incident.

Justin Bieber Agrees to Paternity Test

In two interesting turns of events, Justin Bieber agrees to take a paternity test, meanwhile suing the woman who claims to be his baby momma.

Papers filed by the mother of the child, 20-year-old Mariah Yeater, claim that the two met backstage after a concert in LA and, ahem, hooked up in a bathroom. Justin says that’s a lie and he’s never even met Andrea.

Until the DNA test is conducted, it’ll be his word against her word. Oh, and her word against his lawsuit. After he returns from Europe in two weeks, does the whole DNA thing and is exonerated, he plans to file a suit against Andrea. Justin and his team thinks the suit is important in order to show people can’t get away with slandering him.

Is Justin Bieber a Father?

Is Justin Bieber even old enough to be having sex? One fan certainly thinks so – 20-year-old Mariah Yeater filed a paternity suit claiming that Bieber is her babby daddy. As is to be expected, Bieber’s legal team is calling this suit “malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false. Bieber hasn’t said much on the subject except to state that he’s focusing on other things like promoting his new Christmas-themed album and receiving awards for his charity work.

As for the paternity suit, Yeater said she and Bieber met backstage at a concert last October. “When I later realized I was pregnant with Justin Bieber’s baby, I tried to contact him through his representatives but no one ever called me back,” she told the court, according to Star. She gave birth in July. The allegations should be pretty easy to prove or disprove with a simple paternity test.

Can we take a second to note the age difference, too? Bieber is only 17 … a child himself.
