White House party crasher Michaele Salahi, who allegedly attended a State Dinner with her husband without an invitation last fall, is now the newest star of The Real Housewives of D.C.
Michaele and Tareq Salahi launched themselves into infamy last November by somehow managing to crash a State Dinner at the White House. The couple, who continue to insist they had an invitation, eventually ended up getting cozy at the dinner with President Barack Obama himself.
Bravo confirmed Tuesday that Michaele Salahi will be one of the five housewives on its D.C. reality TV show. The other housewives include: Catherine Ommanney, married to a White House photographer; Stacie Scott Turner, a fund-raising Harvard graduate; Lynda Erkiletian, a modeling agency owner; and Mary Schmidt Amons, granddaughter of Arthur Godfrey.
Andy Cohen, Bravo’s senior vice president of original programming, slammed rumors Michaele Salahi and her husband “used the State Dinner as a ‘stunt’ to be cast on the show.” In a blog post on HuffingtonPost.com, Cohen said Bravo had been shooting Salahi and the other Real Housewives cast members “for months” before the State Dinner incident.
Oddly though, Bravo said last November – after the State Dinner – that the Real Housewives of D.C. cast had “not been finalized” and that Salahi was still “under consideration as a cast member.” Hmmmm…
The Real Housewives of D.C. premieres on Bravo on August 5th at 9 PM.
