Hangover II will be released on time

It was intended to be a joke, but Ed Helms‘ facial tattoo in Hangover Part II has got one tattoo artist taking Warner Bros. to court. S. Victor Whitmill is the man who designed Mike Tyson’s famous facial tattoo, and now the exact same tattoo appears on Ed Helms’  face in the movie.

Whitmill claims the design is copyrighted and was used without his permission.  A judge has ruled that the film can be released this week as planned, but has advised Whitmill that he can seek a permanent injunction against Warner Bros. for the infringement, which his legal team is in the process of doing.

Producers of Hangover 2 come to their senses, ditch Mel Gibson

Well, the bubble is finally starting to burst for Mel Gibson, who up until recently could still fall back on the success of his acting career, but even money-hungry Hollywood production houses are no longer willing to risk upsetting people by hiring an abusive, bigoted rageaholic.  It seems that the cameo role that was offered to Gibson in Hangover 2 has now been snatched away and given to Liam Neeson instead.

Producers claim that many cast and crew members complained about the choice of Gibson, and some flat-out refused to work with him.  Gibson says he doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson was given a second chance while ol’ Mel remains in the dog house.  Um, maybe it’s because Tyson repented for his behavior and turned his life around instead of blaming everyone else, threatening people, and flying off on anti-semitic rants?  Just a guess.

Mel Gibson still able to find a job

If you want your new movie to suffer the kiss of death, casting Mel Gibson is probably a good start down that road, since at the moment he’s about as popular as stomach flu.  However, that hasn’t stopped him from getting a role in the sequel to The Hangover, aptly titled The Hangover 2.

A cameo appearance in the original Hangover movie did wonders for Mike Tyson‘s career, so it’s possible that Gibson is wondering if he can follow suit with some comedy of his own.  After all, nothing says “hilarious” like a misogynistic racist with violent tendencies and a history of physical abuse and bigoted rants!
