Perez Hilton Advertiser Ditches After Miley Cyrus Upskirt Photo Controversy

ABC has pulled advertising for The View from PerezHilton.com after gossip blogger Perez Hilton sparked outrage by posting a Miley Cyrus upskirt photo that appeared to show the 17-year-old not wearing underwear.

Perez Hilton posted the Miley Cyrus upskirt photo on his Twitter feed, warning his fans not to click on the link to the photo if they were “easily offended.” The image showed Miley Cyrus awkwardly exiting a car with her legs spread and seemingly not wearing panties.

Because Miley Cyrus is underage, the photo sparked outrage from many who claimed Perez Hilton was guilty of peddling ‘child porn’ by posting the photo. Hilton shot back with a video response on his website saying Miley Cyrus would be a “moron” for not wearing underwear and he would not be stupid enough to post a photo showing her private parts. He claims other photos taken at the same time clearly show she was not going commando under her short skirt.

Perez Hilton did, however, remove the photograph. Unfortunately for Hilton, the whole thing had already apparently gotten too out of hand for at least one of his advertising sponsors, according to FoxNews.com.

ABC reportedly pulled advertisements for The View on PerezHilton.com in the wake of the Miley Cyrus upskirt photo controversy. ABC has not commented so far on the ad pull.

MTV Networks, another of Perez Hilton’s sponsors, doesn’t seem fazed so far over the child porn accusations against Hilton. Their advertisements on PerezHilton.com for the new TV Land show Hot in Cleveland are still running.

Last, but not least, in what can only be considered a huge suck-up move, Perez Hilton posted a glowing mention of Miley Cyrus’ new single “Liberty Walk” on his website on Wednesday morning. So lame.

Gossip monger Perez Hilton of PerezHilton.com has responded to the controversy over a Miley Cyrus upskirt photo he posted by saying the pic didn’t show anything. The photo, which appears to show underage teen Miley Cyrus not wearing any underwear, sparked accusations Perez Hilton was guilty of posting child porn.

In a video response on his website to what he calls a “fake controversy,” Perez Hilton says it “seems like the whole world is thinking I posted a photo of Miley’s vagina without underwear on. Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?”

Hilton, who does a whole gross Basic Instinct mockery thing sans pants in the video, says Miley Cyrus is “not a moron” and neither is he. “Do you think I’m stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she’s not wearing any underwear down there?”

“Sure, I like to be controversial but I don’t want to go to jail,” Hilton says. “People, snap out of it!”

Hilton claims other photos from the same time frame show Miley Cyrus was “clearly wearing underwear.” Hilton says he only posted the photo to show how “unladylike” Cyrus was acting.

First, we have to ask, if there was nothing wrong with posting the photo – why did Perez Hilton take it down after people started accusing him of trafficking in child porn? Second, Miley Cyrus is still a teenager – even if she was wearing undies, taking or posting photos snapped under her skirt is still wrong. We still consider that child porn, whether the law does or not.

Then again, we just think that’s pretty much wrong no matter who it is. Yes, even if it’s Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears flashing their goods. Obviously, Perez Hilton’s taste level is vastly different than ours.

Gossip blogger queen Perez Hilton could be in some serious hot water after posting a link to an upskirt photo of Miley Cyrus without her underwear. The problem is, Miley Cyrus is not yet 18 and the photo in question could be considered child pornography.

Celebrity gossip monger Perez Hilton is no stranger to posting photos of various celebrities flashing their body parts. From nip-slips to panty-less Britney Spears photos, Perez Hilton loves to mock celebs for accidently showing the world their assets.

Usually, however, the victims of his mockery are adults. Miley Cyrus is not. So when he posted a link to a Miley Cyrus upskirt photo of the young starlet not wearing any panties, he basically posted a link to kiddie porn.

Hilton posted a link to the upskirt photo to his Twitter feed, which has over 2 million followers. After the photo sparked cries of outrage over showing a teenage girl with her stuff hanging out, Hilton removed the photo. The image is still out there on various other sites, but the offending ‘parts’ are covered with censor blocks.

We’re all for pointing out the fallacies of the rich and famous, but we have to say posting a photo of a teenager’s privates on the Net is going way too far. Even if Perez Hilton doesn’t get dinged by the law over this, we kind of hope Miley Cyrus sues the hell out of him.

On the other side of things though, a 17-year-old girl should not be wandering around without underwear either, especially when she KNOWS she is going to be photographed every second by opportunistic paparazzi.
