Law & Order Cancelled After 20 Year Run?

NBC’s Law & Order has reportedly been cancelled after a 20-year run. Although NBC has not officially confirmed a Law & Order cancellation yet, several sources are reporting the crime drama will be missing from the 2010-2011 network’s schedule when it is announced on Monday.

Deadline.com broke the news Law & Order would be cancelled by NBC, which was followed by an alleged confirmation by E! Online. Entertainment Weekly, however, reports that a final decision on the fate of Law & Order has not yet been reached.

Law & Order premiered in 1990 and eventually spawned two spinoff shows, Law & Order: SVU on NBC and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, which now airs on USA. Another Law & Order spinoff, set in Los Angeles, is reportedly in the works.

There is a chance, if Law & Order has indeed been cancelled, that the show could pop up again on cable. So far that seems to have worked out pretty well for Criminal Intent. Then again, maybe it’s just time to let the old girl take her final bow and make way for some fresh blood.
