New Moon took in $26.3 million in midnight showing sales in the U.S. The Twilight sequel is projected to earn a whopping $100 million during the film’s opening weekend.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON

By contrast, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince took in $22.2 million in midnight screenings this part July. New Moon is now the all-time highest grossing film for midnight screenings in the U.S. We’re sure it won’t be the last record New Moon will make in ticket sales and overall profits.

Summit Entertainment also raked in an additional 1.3 million in ticket sales on Thursday with special screenings of Twilight in advance of the New Moon premiere.

The moral of the story is, make the Twilight fans happy and they’ll make your wallets happy too!
