Nicole Richie Hospitalized with Pneumonia But Doing Well

Former Simple Life star Nicole Richie has checked into a Los Angeles hospital suffering from pneumonia after over a week of battling illness. The petite mother of two is reportedly doing fine though, according to her rep.

“Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia,” a rep for Richie tells X17. “She is doing well.” Richie has complained of being sick for over a week, posting on her Twitter feed Sunday: “ok cold, it’s been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving.”

28-year-old Nicole Richie appeared in court Monday afternoon with partner Joel Madden to receive approval for a restraining order against two paparazzi they claim have harassed them and endangered their children. The judge granted a three year restraining order against the celebrity photographers.

Joel Madden and Nicole Richie Welcome New Baby

Nicole Richie has reportedly checked into a Los Angeles hospital to prepare for the arrival for baby number two with her boyfriend, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden. The Simple Life star was allegedly admitted to the hospital shortly after attending the memorial service for former fiancé DJ AM late last week.

The due date for Nicole Richie’s second child was believed to be early September, so she should be ready to pop out baby number two at any moment. Whether or not Richie was experiencing any particular issues that caused her to check into the hospital early is unknown. Neither Nicole’s or Joel Madden’s reps have commented on the impending birth.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are already the happy parents to 19-month-old daughter Harlow Winter Kate. The couple has not revealed the sex of their second baby on the way. Nicole’s adoptive father, singer Lionel Richie, reportedly admitted recently he hopes his  newest grandchild will be a boy. Apparently Nicole won’t tell him if it is or not, because he confessed he’d spill the beans to everyone!
