The Parents Television Council is up in arms after the announcement that radio shock jock Howard Stern will be joining the judging panel on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. The network announced Thursday that Howard Stern would replace Piers Morgan on the show for the next season. Morgan reportedly decided to exit America’s Got Talent in order to focus on his CNN interview program.
â€œHoward Sternâ€™s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to Americaâ€™s Got Talent starting this summer,â€ explained NBC alternative programming head Paul Telegdy. â€œHeâ€™s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.â€

MTV may have a really big hit on their hands with their new sexy teen drama Skins, but advertisers are abandoning ship left and right as parents’ groups and other organizations lay on the pressure. Â Skins was originally a hit in the UK, and although it has worked out well in Britain, American audiences may find it a little too racy for their tastes.
In fact, the show has been called “child pornography” by the Parents Television Council, who have filed a complaint with the Department of Justice. Â In the wake of the controversy, Taco Bell, Wrigley, GM, and H&R Block have all pulled their advertising from the show. Â As of yet, no charges have been filed against the series for sexual violations.
