American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips was reportedly scheduled for vital kidney surgery on Tuesday, but it looks like he will have to wait a little longer before he goes under the knife. According to the latest reports, the Phillip Phillips surgery has been postponed because the American Idol winner is suffering from a high fever.

Phillips Phillips suffers from a congenital kidney disorder that creates huge kidney stones that cannot be naturally passed out of the body. The American Idol 2012 winner had to go through eight prior surgeries to relieve the extremely painful buildup of kidney stones during his time on season 11. This latest surgery will reportedly be to do repair work on his right kidney, which has been ravaged by his condition.

American Idol 2012 top 5 contestant Phillip Phillips may be an oddball, but he is apparently a loveable one to make it all the way to this point in the competition. He may be quirky and unpredictable, but his fans keep voting week after week to keep him safe.

Besides Elise Testone, who was eliminated on American Idol 2012 last week, Phillip Phillips is perhaps the contestant with the most questionable and unpredictable song choices. Sometimes he seems to have it nailed to the wall, and sometimes you have to ask what the hell he was thinking. The judges are often totally astounded when he takes an unlikely song and rocks it out and then equally confused when a song should be perfect for him and it goes all wrong.

You never know exactly what sort of odd performance he is going to come up with next and you can never quite be sure he will continue to keep the voters happy enough to stay out of the bottom two.

Obviously Phillip Phillips has the ability to charm the American Idol 2012 judges and the audience with his quirky style. Even though he does not always garner the highest praise from the judges and has had at least a few not-so-great performances, he keeps ranking near the top of the contestants week after week.
