Regardless of one’s opinion on the health care reform issue, yelling at your President during a live speech to a joint session of Congress is just embarrassingly juvenile. President Obama managed to ignore Joe Wilson’s outburst, but the nation was abuzz the Joe Wilson You Lie! video of the incident Thursday morning.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to take any formal action against Wilson for his outburst, either during or after the debacle, but reportedly said she was “shocked” by his behavior.

“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me,” Wilson said in a press statement last night after the President’s speech. “While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.”

Even though Joe Wilson apologized for screaming at the President, he’s too late to prevent himself from becoming a household name – in a bad way. Even worse for Joe Wilson, his most favored opponent for re-election, Marine Corps veteran Rob Miller, is already using the incident as fodder for fundraising and attacking the incumbent Congressman from South Carolina.

As of this report, Congressman Joe Wilson’s website has been crashed since last night due to “exceptionally high traffic.”

As the nation mourns for Senator Ted Kennedy, a new generation is digging up information on the most infamous dark moment of his life, littering the Internet with searches about Chappaquiddick incident. On July 18, 1969, Senator Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy set out for a party on Chappaquiddick, an island near Martha’s Vineyard. The following morning, Ted Kennedy’s overturned car was found off the side of a bridge on Chappaquiddick, under water, with the body of Mary Jo Kopechne inside.

The Chappaquiddick incident quickly became a national scandal. Senator Kennedy eventually pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury. He served no jail time. Senator Ted Kennedy refused to report the fatal accident to police until authorities had already discovered the body. Kennedy’s crazed behavior following the accident and conflicting details between his story and the evidence of what happened that night launched a thousand conspiracy theories. The least convoluted theory - Ted Kennedy was drunk at Chappaquiddick and did not want authorities to have proof he was drinking when he drove off the bridge.

For all of the many great things Senator Ted Kennedy has done both as a person and as a statesman during his long life, the Chappaquiddick incident and the death of Mary Jo Kopechne has been and likely always will be a lingering dark shadow over his legacy.

No matter what did happen that night in 1969, we hope Senator Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy can now R.I.P.

Well, Snarkista’s sad to say it looks like there won’t be a royal Alaskan wedding this summer, as Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol has kicked her baby-daddy Levi Johnston out.

The young couple, who welcomed son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston two months ago, have gone their separate ways. Rumors had been swirling, and Johnston, 19, finally confirmed Wednesday that they have been broken up for a while.

After being thrust into the national spotlight last summer, Johnston and Palin, the eldest daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, had said they were planning to marry this summer after she finished high school.

Levi’s sister, Mercede has apparently cashed a check from the Star, and she is dishing out some dirt. She says Bristol, 18, has virtually cut Levi out of the life of their two-month-old son Tripp.

“Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’!” Bristol won’t even allow him to watch the baby for a few hours — unless he’s babysitting!

The worst part, Mercede continues, is that the former vice presidential candidate supports Bristol’s treatment of Levi, 19. “I used to love Sarah,” Mercede says sadly. “But I’ve lost lots of respect for her.”

Ah, young love. So fickle.

Sasha Fierce has gone and riled up the legendary Etta James, by singing her legendary song- “At Last” for Barack Obama at his inauguration. Etta is not Beyonce’s biggest fan…or Obama’s. At a recent concert Etta threatened to whoop Ms. Fierce’s ass, and wondered what gave THAT diva the right to sing HER SONG at the ball. Quoth Etta:

You know, your President, the one with the big ears — he ain’t my President — had that woman singing for him at his Inauguration. She’s going to get her ass whooped… ‘How dare Beyoncè sing my song that I been singing forever. Now I’m going to sing it for y’all….”
