New Amy Winehouse Album Coming in December

When Amy Winehouse passed away earlier this year, she left a number of unfinished songs, which will now be released in a posthumous collection called “Lioness: Hidden Treasures.” These songs are both alternate versions of her previous hits as well as brand new songs. According to CBS News, “the album includes demo version of ‘Wake Up Alone,’ a mellower version of ‘Valerie,’ a new song called ‘Between the Cheats’ and her final studio recording, a duet of ‘Body & Soul’ with Tony Bennett.”

Amy’s father, Mitch, said that the album will be up to the standards of her earlier albums. He stated that had it not been honoring to Amy’s memory the family would not have chosen to release it. The album is being put together by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, two of Amy’s long-time musical partners, in collaboration with the Winehouse family, her management and record label.

This will be Amy’s third album following “Frank” and Grammy-winning “Back to Black.”
