Another rapper is headed to jail soon, this time on charges of felony possession of a weapon. Ja Rule negotiated a plea deal with prosecutors in order to avoid going to trial, as if he had been found guilty of all the charges against him, he was looking at seven years’ incarceration.
As it stands, he’s likely to receive two years at his sentencing in February, and of those two years he’s only likely to serve 16 months, if he behaves himself. Â After that, he’ll have to do 18 months of supervised probation, and then it’ll be time for him to have a huge comeback party.
