Raymond Clark III, the accused murderer of Annie Le, was expected to plead not guilty on Tuesday to charges of strangling the young graduate student and stuffing her body into the wall of a laboratory building. However, Clark left the courtroom without entering a plea, although his lawyers say he does still plan to plead not guilty to the crime.
Connecticut public defense attorney Joseph Lopez stated Raymond Clark would “enter a not guilty plea” when he appeared in court Tuesday in New Haven. Clark is currently being held in jail on a $3 million bond. Despite the earlier statement by his attorney, Clark left the court room today without entering a plea.
Raymond Clark III was arrested last month on suspicion of killing Yale student Annie Le just days before she was due to wed. Clark and Le worked in the same laboratory at Yale. Annie Le’s body was found stuffed behind a wall in the lab where they worked.Â
Surveillance information from the laboratory building allegedly show Clark was the last person in the lab with Le before she was killed. Clark also reportedly failed a lie detector test regarding Annie Le’s murder and his DNA allegedly matched evidence at the crime scene.
