The rumor Russell Brand and Katy Perry are engaged has been confirmed. Russell Brand confirmed the engagement through his rep to People on Wednesday. Brand and Perry reportedly got engaged while on vacation in Jaipur, India last week.
Rumors began brewing the couple was on the road to the altar when news was leaked Russell Brand was allegedly shopping for a wedding ring. USMagazine.com announced the news of Brand’s engagement to Katy Perry earlier this week, saying Brand proposed to Perry in India. Britain’s Sun tabloid reported Brand texted a confirmation of the engagement Wednesday saying “It’s true. Much love.”
Brand was apparently already thinking ahead to his future nuptials with Perry back in December. “I don’t know, get married, you say? That would be good, isn’t it,” Brand said during an interview with GMTV. “I want to have children — that would be good.”
Katy Perry and Russell Brand have been dating since last fall. The two reportedly hooked up at the MTV Music Awards and allegedly made out that night at an awards show after party.
Let’s just hope the kids take after Perry. No poor child needs to be saddled with those crazy Brand eyes and overwhelming chest hair…
