Katy Loves Pizza, Not Babies

It’s not every day you hear a star copping to just really loving a good pizza or burger. But that’s what Katy Perry did when she blamed fast food delights for giving her what some theorized was a “baby bump.” Then in typical Katy fashion she added “I still love drinking alcohol, so [no kids] yet.”

However, that’s not to say that kids aren’t in the future for Katy and husband Russell Brand. On the Ellen show she stated that having children is “one of the reasons you get married … You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent,” she explained.

Katy fans, don’t get your hopes up that she’ll have a mini-me walking around any time soon. She said she still wasn’t sure if it was the “right time.” She’s still plenty young so we say – take all the time you need, Katy!

Russell Brand deported from Japan

This is what happens when you marry a guy with a history of drug and alcohol abuse – sometimes surprise skeletons pop out of the closet to ruin your plans. Katy Perry, who is currently in Asia with her world tour, was looking forward to showing her husband, Russell Brand, all around Tokyo.

Tokyo is Katy’s favorite city, but sadly when she took to the internet to tell Twitter all about it, the news was sad.  “So…my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place,” Katy tweeted, later saying that Russell had been deported because of some prior legal problems from more than a decade ago.

It’s difficult to tell how well Katy Perry‘s marriage to Russell Brand is going – the two have only been married a few months, and are struggling to spend time together due to busy work schedules on both sides of the equation.  Russell has had to make a lot of concessions in order to make the relationship work, like taking jokes out of his comedy routine that Katy found offensive, and scheduling dinner dates months in advance so that she could plan accordingly.

Recently, when asked about the marriage, Brand said that it is both spectacular and mundane.  He also noted that in many areas of the marriage, he has had to give up on the idea of having opinions, and lets Katy make the decisions according to what she wants.  Wow.

Katy Perry says she lives on airplanes

It’s difficult to make any marriage work, but when you never get to spend time with your spouse, especially when you’re newlyweds, it can be almost unbearable.  Katy Perry and Russell Brand are both very busy people right now, and their respective work schedules often keep them apart for long periods of time.  But due to a rule they made for their marriage that they’d never spend more than a week apart, they’re having to do a lot of extra traveling to make sure they get to see each other.

At the moment Russell is filming on location, and Katy is away on her world tour, so it pretty much means she has to fly back to the US at least once a week in order to fulfill the promise they made to each other.  While that’s really romantic and everything, she’s kidding herself if she thinks all that time on airplanes isn’t going to take just as much of a toll as being apart would.

Katy Perry will become Katy Brand

It may be old-fashioned, but it’s also very sweet – Katy Perry has made the decision to change her last name to that of her husband, Russell Brand.  In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Perry said that people were already calling her “Mrs. Brand” to get her attention, and she’s already accustomed to turning around when people say it.

Later in the interview, Katy said that she was thrilled to be married to Russell, but that she was thankful for Helen Mirren spending so much time with her husband as a movie co-star.  Katy says Russell can be a handful, and it’s nice to have someone else to take him off her hands sometimes.

Despite Russell Brand‘s promises that his and Katy Perry’s wedding would be normal, with nothing outlandish or extravagant, it seems the couple have wed this past weekend in a tiger reserve in northern India, and that the ceremony included a procession of elephants, tigers, and camels.  What, you mean your wedding wasn’t exactly like that?

Apparently the celebrations got a little bit out of control, and now Indian authorities are investigating claims that the Brands violated local noise pollution laws with their late-night music.  This follows another controversy from before the wedding, in which Brand and his entourage got involved in a physical confrontation with the paparazzi while Brand and Perry were enjoying a nature safari.

Russell Brand jokes about being arrested

Russell Brand was arrested on Friday for attacking a photographer outside LAX airport who Brand says was trying to take inappropriate photos of Brand’s fiancée, Katy Perry.  According to Perry’s own Twitter, Brand reacted when the photographer in question attempted to stick his lens up under Perry’s skirt.  So to speak.

The part of the story that intrigues me most is that by all reports, after the attack the photographer made a “citizen’s arrest” and detained Brand himself until airport police could arrive.  Seriously?  Russell Brand is 6’2″ and of fairly sturdy build, and at the time he was angry and avenging the honor of his woman, so I’d be curious to see the sort of guy who could arrest him singlehandedly, especially when the guy in question was the one who provoked the anger in the first place.  I’ve seen the video of the incident, and it looks more like the photographer ran off and cried to the airport police, which is pretty gutsy if he really did do what Perry and Brand allege.
