In a statement to the press, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said “words can’t express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour.” Due to his injuries, the band’s press release stated “Tyler is unable to tour and the band wants to give him time to get healthy.”

Stephen Tyler broke his shoulder and suffered cuts to his head requiring stitches when he fell backwards off a stage during the August 5th performance at Sturgis. He was airlifted to the hospital following the incident.

“All of us here in the Aerosmith organization and all of the people who contribute to making our shows possible are in a state of shock,” guitarist Brad Whitford said in the press statement. “We never anticipated this tour coming to such a swift and unfortunate ending. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steven for a speedy recovery and return to good health.”

Fans who have purchased tickets for upcoming tour dates will be refunded.
