He’s already had to deal with a lifetime of being in the wrong body, as well as the ordeal of coming out to his mother and then to the public, but Chaz Bono is taking one more brave leap forward and making a documentary film about his female-to-male gender reassignment. Â The point of the film is to draw attention to the issue of transsexuality, and to help people better understand and accept what transitioning people go through.
The film has been chosen to premiere at the Sundance Festival, so it’s very likely to be worth a watch. Â I’m sure there will be some bashing in there somewhere, as it always is, but hopefully the message will get through loud and clear anyway.
