Actor Pete Postlethwaite dies

It’s a sad day for the film industry – Pete Postlethwaite, who was in pretty much every good movie you’ve ever seen, has died at age 64 after his second lengthy battle with cancer.  Postlethwaite defeated testicular cancer in 1990, only to contract another kind of cancer nearly two decades later.

It’s unknown what kind of cancer he was battling this time, but a lot is being made of the fact that he was a heavy smoker, so perhaps it was his lungs.  He had a lot of great roles in his career, but for my money nothing will ever beat his role as Kobayashi in The Usual Suspects.  He was a talented actor and he will be sorely missed.
