Being signed by Simon Cowell is a dream come true for the girls of Fifth Harmony, who hope to follow in the footsteps of The X Factor UK group One Direction. Both groups were put together on their respective seasons by Cowell from solo auditioners who failed to make the cut as individuals.
The X Factor USA 2012 winner Tate Stevens is already translating his success on the reality talent show into real world rewards. Stevens has been tapped to replace American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips on FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live! special. FOX announced the replacement after Phillips bowed out of the program due to a scheduling conflict.

Dropping out of a prime New Year’s Eve gig so close to the date is just a bit odd. The show could rake in tons of revenue for the entertainers from millions of potential music buyers. I’m not sure what kind of “scheduling conflict” could prompt Phillips to cancel last minue, but it’s a sweet deal for replacement Tate Stevens. Let’s just hope the real reason behind the American Idol winner skipping out on the program isn’t health-related or anything serious. The X Factor 2012 judge L. A. Reid will not be returning to the show for season three, the Epic Records chairman announced on Thursday. L. A. Reid was the first judge to be hired by producer and fellow judge Simon Cowell in season one of the show. While Reid says he is “honored” to have been part of The X Factor judges panel, he is ready to put his focus back on the business of making great records.

“I have the utmost respect for Simon Cowell,” Reid said Thursday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “He is the very best, and I have had the opportunity to learn so much from him. Working with him on X Factor has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m honored to have sat on the panel with such incredible talent.”

The X Factor season 2 country crooner Tate Stevens of Team L. A. Reid has been riding high in the pack for weeks. Although he lost the top spot in the voter rankings to Carly Rose Sonenclar of Team Britney Spears last week, it is obvious Tate Steven remains a strong contender to be The X Factor USA winner for season 2. Let’s face it, Americans love cowboys, sweet guys who love their wives and country music. Tate Stevens is the total package to rake in the votes from the non-Tweens and anyone south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
There is a very strong possibility that The X Factor USA finale for season 2 could be Tate Stevens going up against tiny Carly Rose Sonenclar. Who will win out when the possible future country superstar meets the tween pop icon in the making? Give a listen to Tate Stevens’ top 6 live performance of the Pepsi Challenge selected song “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks and let us know who you think would come out on top!

The X Factor season 2 has already given Diamond White more second chances than any of the other contestants this season. Diamond White was actually eliminated by her team coach Britney Spears earlier in the season, which probably boosted her confidence in the competition wonderfully (NOT). Luckily for Diamond White, she was brought back after outraged fans would not shut up about her being cut unfairly. Unfortunately, however, she did not manage to keep those same fans voting enough last week to prevent her from dropping into the bottom two and almost going home. The judges once again gave her another chance though and sent Vino Alan of Team L. A. Reid packing instead.
Where are all Diamond White’s outraged fans now? Will they be scared by her almost being eliminated on The X Factor USA last week and start dialing in droves this week? Does she deserve to move on in the competition after her performances on the top 6 live show on Wednesday? Take a look at her rendition of “Diamonds” by Rihanna from this week’s show and let us know if you think her fans will save her this time or not!

The X Factor season 2 all girls group Fifth Harmony was created by Simon Cowell from previously eliminated hopefuls early on in the season. Since then, they have had their ups and downs and so far failed to connect solidly with the voters. While they have managed to keep going from week to week, this round might just be the last for Fifth Harmony if they don’t manage to pull something huge in the live performances tonight. If any song might save them from being eliminated, it might just be this one from top 6 live performance show Wednesday night.
What do you think? Did America make the right choice in picking “Give Your Heart a Break” by Demi Lovato for Fifth Harmony’s Pepsi Challenge song? Watch the video of The X Factor USA top 6 performance by Fifth Harmony below and let us know if you think it was a fabulous performance or a fail!
