Much maligned golf legend Tiger Woods may be returning to the game in as little as two weeks, according to media reports. Woods recently hired former presidential advisor Ari Fleischer to help him work on his ‘image’ and reportedly plans to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational later this month.
According to the New York Post, several sources are reporting Tiger Woods is hoping to take part in the Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando. Arnold Palmer himself has allegedly told confidants that Woods will be playing in the tournament.
Former George W. Bush advisor Ari Fleischer will allegedly help to smooth the path for Woods’ return to golf. “They were in his living room this week going over a strategy for how to handle Bay Hill in two weeks,” an unidentified source told the New York Post. Fleischer notably helped baseball player Mark McGwire to rebuild his image after he was busted for using steroids.
It’s possible Tiger Woods might actually plan his debut a few days earlier than the Palmer Invitational. The March 22-23 Tavistock Cup takes place at Woods’ home golf course of Isleworth in Florida, but has a lower profile than the Invitational. That could prove to Woods’ benefit in easing back into the sport he’s been absent from for so long.
Whenever Woods does return to the golf world for the first time, we’re sure it will be a virtual media circus. No doubt one of the things the press will be hounding over is whether or not Woods’ wife, Elin Nordegren, shows up to root on her husband – and whether or not that wedding ring is finally back on her finger if she does.
