You may not recognize the name Yvette Vickers, but she was not only a 1959 Playboy Playmate, she was also one of the most popular B-movie actresses of her generation. Â A mummified body, presumed to be that of Vickers, was found by a neighbor inside the Vickers residence this week, and police say that she could have been dead for as long as a year.
The neighbor who found the body was apparently not suspicious that she hadn’t seen Vickers in many months, but what tipped her off were some cobwebs and yellowing mail in the mailbox. Â The neighbor entered through a broken window and found what she described as “unrecognizable remains” in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Â Police are expected to make a positive identification soon.
