The Biggest Loser: Second Chances 2 kicked off tonight at 8PM ET on NBC. Trainers Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels and Dolvett Quince are back again this year to kick butt and take names in their quest to whip 15 competitors into shape. Included in this year’s cast are two ‘celebrity’ contestants, one of which you have probably heard of and one you might not have — unless you’re a follower of the US Olympic weightlifting team.

Former American Idol winner Ruben Studdard is competing on this year’s The Biggest Loser season 15 and weighs in as the heaviest contestant at 462 pounds. Although Ruben previously lost 100 pounds through diet and exercise, he regained all the weight back plus more. When he was invited to participate in The Biggest Loser: Second Chances 2, he just couldn’t refuse the opportunity to hopefully lose the weight at last.

Our other ‘celebrity’ contestant this season is Holley Mangold, a member of the 2012 Olympic Team as a superheavyweight weightlifter. She weighs 350 pounds at just 5-foot-8. Holley is no stranger to reality TV either. She previously appeared on an episode of MTV’s True Life titled “I’m the Big Girl.”

So did either one of this season’s celebrity contestants get the boot tonight and end up as the one who was eliminated on The Biggest Loser 15 first?

Well, we are happy to tell any fans of Ruben and/or Holley that both of them were safe this week! Both of them will get to continue on to compete next week. So who did go home?

At the weigh-in tonight the three teams, Red, White and Blue, faced a red line elimination. Whichever team member with the lowest percentage of weight loss on the team with the lowest total weight loss would automatically be sent home. Unless, that is, their team trainer decided to use their one and only Trainer Save to keep that person in the competition.

After all the contestants weighed in, the White Team of Tumi, Fernanda, Marie, Jay and Craig ended up in last place. They lost a total of 71 pounds but it wasn’t enough to bed the Red Team or Blue Team. On the losing team, the person with the least amount of weight loss was Craig and he faced elimination.

As the trainer of the White Team, Jillian was asked if she wanted to use her save to keep Craig from being eliminated. Surprisingly, Jillian went ahead and decided to go ahead and use her Trainer Save in the very first weigh-in to save Craig! We really thought she’d want to save that for later on when one of her really hard workers had a bad week and needed saving.

Watch out next week though as someone will surely be going home in episode 2 and if the person with the lowest weight loss is on Jillian’s team, they won’t have a save to fall back on!
