Although their relationship was never actually officially confirmed, it appears The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough dating run is already over. The two have allegedly decided to break up after dating for only six weeks because the long-distance relationship was too difficult.
According to USMagazine.com, Derek Hough and Nina Dobrev split up because “the distance was too much to handle” and the relationship had just petered out. Nina and Derek allegedly hooked up back in September when The Vampire Diaries star was hanging out a lot with his sister Julianne Hough.
Despite the break up, Nina and Julianne are reportedly still close friends and there are no hard feelings. We had a feeling it would never last (if it was ever true) considering that Derek was Nina’s rebound guy after breaking up with Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder back in May.
Ian and Nina dated for three years and everyone thought they’d be getting married sometimes soon. It takes longer than a few months to get over that kind of relationship. Or at least it should!
