The Voice 2012 Live Season 3 Recap: Blind Auditions Round 4! (VIDEO)

The Voice season 3 blind auditions continue tonight as judges/coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera compete to grab the best singers for their teams. From the awesome talent seen on The Voice 2012 season 3 blind auditions last week, we may already have already seen The Voice season 3 winner in action.

Last week on The Voice 2012 season 3, some of the singers who performed just blew the audience and the judges away. I could easily see at least three or four of them as The Voice season 3 winner. On the other hand, there could be even more astounding singers waiting in the wings to wow fans of The Voice 3 tonight and tomorrow as the blind auditions continue. Join us now for our The Voice 2012 live season 3 recap and let’s find out!

This post contains The Voice 2012 season 3 spoilers from the blind auditions round 4. Please stop reading here if you do not want to know what happened!

All four The Voice season 3 teams are stacked with great talent so far, but there is a long way to go until all the team slots are filled up. Each of the coaches will be starting off with 16 team members this season at the end of The Voice 2012 season 3 blind auditions rounds. Then they’ll actually get the chance later to steal singers from other coaches during the battle rounds. That should be very interesting to see how that plays out. Here is how The Voice season 3 teams are lined up going into tonight’s show:

Team Adam Levine: Bryan Keith, Joe Kirkland, Samuel Morton, Nicole Nelson, Loren Allred

Team Blake Shelton: Terry McDermott, Gracia Harrison, Casey Muessicman, Julio Cesar Castillo, Crystal and Alison Steele

Team Christina Aguilera: De’Borah, Devon Deloera, Adriana Louise, Aguile, Nelly’s Echo, Lisa Scinta, MarissaAnn

Team Cee Lo Green: Daniel Rosa, Trevin Hunte, Mackenzie Bourg, Domo

Who will shine on The Voice 2012 season 3 tonight? Will Team Cee Lo Green finally catch up with the rest of the teams? Will Christina Aguilera continue to dominate with the most contestants wanting her for their coach? Will the talent this week manage to top the great singers we saw last week? Our live The Voice season 3 recap starts now!

The first audition of the night is Melanie Martinez performing an acoustic version of the Britney Spears hit “Toxic”.

Coaches: Melanie does a great and very original rendition and she soon has judges spinning her away. First up is Blake Shelton, followed by Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green. Christina says she would have turned, but with all three guys hitting their button, she thought it was too much of a battle. (In other words, she didn’t like you enough to fight for you honey, or she was pissy because you did Britney.) Adam loves her creativity. Blake thinks she is unique and a star. Cee Lo loves her quirky tambourine playing and likes the way she looks. Melanie says she wants to pick someone who will enjoy her creativity. She decides to go with Adam.

Now on stage we have Cupid, who actually had a brief one-hit Internet wonder in 2006 with the “Cupid Shuffle” and that is the song he performs. Cupid says he hasn’t had much luck in the business since and if no one turns for him, he may have to give up the singing.

Coaches: Unfortunately, Cupid doesn’t look like he is going to have a second hit as none of the coaches turn for him. Cee Lo Green says it was cool to see Cupid but it was a weird song to sing. He said he had no idea it was actually Cupid performing his own song. The judges ask him to sing a little something else and they actually like that much better and he might have gotten some of them to turn, but it is too late and Cupid has to go home.

Brian Scartocci gives a minor sad story about getting married too young and his relationship falling apart, leaving him as a single father with two kids. He’s still trying to pursue his dream of singing, however, and gives the judges a beautiful rendition of “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder.

Coaches: Brian manages to snag all three of the guys to turn and Christina says she would have, but she was beat by all the boys and didn’t want to fight with them. (Because you already have way more singers than they do dear and they probably told you to STOP collecting them for a bit.) Adam says it was a tough song and he nailed it. Cee Lo thought it was sweet and beautifully styled. Blake says they may be from different planets, but they could have great chmestry. Adam throws a fast ball and says he would love to make a jam session between Brian and Stevie Wonder happen. Blake is like, dude cheating! Brian chooses Adam, naturally.

The duos aren’t doing so well tonight as we see a series of failed auditions from pairs that did not make it through; Vanjess, Maddie & Julia, and The Wadsworth Sisters.

After all that, we get a married duo calling themselves Beat Frequency that does apparently make one judge happy. The husband/wife team gives a performance of Katy Perry‘s “E.T.” that leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion, but they manage to get Christina Aguilera to turn her chair in just a few moments of singing.

Coaches: Christina Aguilera is the only judge who hits her button and I’m still trying to figure out why. They really just weren’t that great. However, the judges say they were the best duo to audition so far, which I guess might be true considering how bad the others were. Blake says he almost hit his button, but they just weren’t his style. Since they have no other choice, Beat Frequency is on Christina’s team.

The next singer, former baseball player Tyler Lillestol, may have had the chance to perform at Dodger Stadium, but that doesn’t mean he is a star. Tyler sings “You Got It Bad” by Usher but doesn’t manage to impress any of the judges enough to turn around.

Coaches: Christina says sometimes they might be too picky, but Tyler should pick songs that are better for his voice. Adam says it was a hard song for him to really shine on. No team for Tyler.

Now we have another country singer, so we already know she is going to end up with Blake Shelton, right? Liz Davis dropped out of college to move to Nashville at 19 to pursue music. She gets three judges to turn for her, Christina, Adam and Blake.

Coaches: Blake is schmoozing as usual and pulls out his American Country Music Award to show off and jokes about not having connections in country music. Adam says she is beautiful and amazing. Christina says she would support her 100% and wants her on her team. Naturally, country calls to country and Liz chooses Blake.

YouTube star JR Aquino has millions of views and is one of the top 100 musicians in the world on YouTube. He wants to be more than just an Internet sensation though and he hopes his performance of “Just The Way You Are” will move him to the next level. He thrills the judges and snags Christina, Adam and Cee Lo.

Coaches: Adam says JR has a sound like Bruno Mars and he would love having him on his team. Christina liked his sound and thought he was great. JR tells the judges about his YouTube success. Finally, he decides to go with Cee Lo Green.

Signed by Sony when she was 10, Algina Alvarez was never able to capitalize on her early success. She gives a relatively good performance of “Turn The Beat Around” but none of the judges hit their buttons.

Coaches: Blake actually says he is shocked none of the judges turned. Christina says she was was stunned into forgetting to turn around. Adam says he too is a fan. All the judges seem to regret not turning, but they didn’t, so Algina is going home.

Nicholas David has everything he could want with a beautiful partner and two children. His life went into a spiral when he was younger though, when he joined a band and started drinking and eating way too much and shot up to 300 lbs. He says meeting the love of his life woke him up and he wants to share a message of hope. He performs “Stand By Me” and it is lovely, but only Cee Lo turns around.

Coaches: Adam thinks he was great (but not great enough appraently). Christina thinks he is unique. Cee Lo loves his style. Nicholas is on Cee Lo’s team by default.

17-year-old Alessandra Guerico is up next and she goes to the ‘Fame’ shcool of Laguardia High School. She sings “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus and sounds good. Both Adam and Cee Lo spin for her.

Coaches: Christina thinks the song was ‘too sweet’ but Adam thinks the inexperience with the song was just her age and she is great. Cee Lo thought it was a fabulous vocal performance. Allesandra decides to join Adam’s team.

Some other brief successful performances are shown in a quick montage from 15-year-old Adanna Duro (Team Adam), Kelly Crapa (Team Blake) and 16-year-old Paulina (Team Christina).

Last up for the night is 16-year-old Avery Wilson performing “Without You”. Wilson grew up in a family full of dancers, but he obviously was made to sing. Avery manages to get all four coaches to hit their buttons with Adam first, followed by Cee Lo, Christina and Blake.

Coaches: Adam just can’t believe Avery is only 16 and he is a performer beyond his years. Christina says you can’t teach the natural talent Avery has. Blake says he had to hit his button out of pure respect for his vocatls. Cee Lo says he is inspired and could give him endless compliments but he thinks he could be ever better if he works with him. Avery decides to choose Cee Lo.

  1. I had no idea last night was going to be filled with a bunch of young singers but it was pretty cool. I loved the first act when Melanie Martinez was playing the tambourine with her feet while playing guitar and singing. My officemates at DISH thought Avery Wilson was the best act of the night though. I’ve been busy with class at night so I’m watching the blind auditions on Prime Time Anytime on my Hopper DVR. It automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks for me. There has been a lot of talent in these blind auditions but I think Cee Lo has built the best team so far. I can’t wait to see how all the teams shape up.
