WARNING: THE VOICE 2012 SEASON 3 SPOILERS AHEAD!

This post contains The Voice 2012 season 3 spoilers from the first battle round. Please stop reading here if you do not want to know what happened!

Going into The Voice 2012 playoffs, I personally am laying a (small) bet for the winning singer of this season to come down to either Trevin Hunte, Cassadee Pope or Adriana Louise–so I expect all of them will move on to the Top 12. However, I’m actually rooting for De’borah, Bryan Keith, Amanda Brown or Melanie Martinez to walk away as The Voice season 3 winner. Thus, I hope they will all be moving on to the Top 12 as well. Of course, all it takes is one bad week to watch a favorite fall and end up being sent home.

The Voice season 3 will air Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week instead of the usual Monday/Tuesday schedule due to the presidential election. A special results show has been added on Thursday to reveal The Voice 2012 Top 12. While the viewers will select the top 2 from each team with their votes this week, The Voice 2012 judges will also get to choose a singer to move forward as well.

While part of me would like to see the voters given the opportunity to pick all of The Voice season 3 Top 12, the judges have invested a lot in their teams. Plus, the voters for reality shows are notoriously wild with their picks sometimes. Allowing the judges to choose one member each from their teams to go to The Voice Top 12 should hopefully provide some balance to the teams going into the finals.

Here’s the lineup for the The Voice Top 20 going into the first round of the Playoffs on Monday night:

  • Team Adam Levine: Amanda Brown, Loren Allred, Bryan Keith, Melanie Martinez and Joselyn Rivera
  • Team Cee Lo Green: Trevin Hunte, Cody Belew, MacKenzie Bourg, Nicholas David and Diego Val
  • Team Christina Aguilera: De’Borah, Dez Devon, Devyn DeLoera, Adriana Louise and Sylvia Yacoub
  • Team Blake Shelton: Liz Davis, Terry McDermott, Collin McLoughlin, Julio Cesar, Castillo and Cassadee Pope

On The Voice season 3 tonight, the two featured teams in this round of the playoffs will be Team Adam and Team Blake. Each of their respective five remaining team members will perform live during the two-hour show.

Before we get to the first individual performances, there is a group number by the members of both teams singing “Peace of Mind” by Boston. To be honest, it is a bit of a train wreck during some parts in my opinion.

Thankfully the group number is quickly over and it is time to dive into the individual performances.

Joselyn Rivera (Team Adam) – “Give Your Heart a Break” by Demi Lovato

Judges: Blake says he just knew he wanted her on his team. She always delivers when she is on stage and she looked like a star tonight. Christina says she lvoed it and Joselyn was really working the stage. Her smile lit up the whole room. Christina would like to hear her sing a ballad. Cee Lo says her attitude is his favorite thing about her and she did great. Adam says she killed it and did an incredible job. She thrives on stage.

Terry McDermot (Team Blake) – “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey

Judges: Christina says Terry knows he is good. He is very easy on the ears and has an effortless and precise tone. He is always dead on and she is a fan. Cee Lo says he has been a fan since the beginning and he is a favorite. He is just genuine rock and roll. Blake says Terry makes classic rock cool again. America should know that when God passed out the ability to rock, Terry got extra.

Melanie Martinez – “Hit the Road Jack” by Ray Charles

Judges: Blake says he has always been a fan and loves how she makes a song her own. His favorite thing is that she is just not interested in being like anyone else. Christina says it was a tough song and Melanie was a little pitchy in the beginning, but she appreciates her vision as an artist. Adam says it was great that he didn’t even try to compare her version with the original. As far as artistry goes, she is amazing and he is very proud.

Liz Davis (Team Blake) – “Independence Day” by Martina McBride

Judges: Christina says she has a perfect voice and it was a perfect time for this performance. Cee Lo says she looked lovely and it made him ‘proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.’ Blake says there is a lot on the line tonight because he is the country guy and she is the only country act, so thanks to her for proving him right and bringing her to the live rounds.

Cassadee Pope (Team Blake) – “My Happy Ending” by Avril Lavigne

Judges: Christina says Cassadee always has a pretty voice and hit the high notes. She surprised her. Christina tells her to trust herself and do her thing. Cee Lo says he loves what she did and her bravado made the song come alive. It was a wonderful performance. Adam says he thinks she is great. He still wants to know who she is though and that is sometimes difficult to see, but she did a great job. Blake says Adam is going to have a lot of time to figure out who she is because Cassadee is going to be here for a long time. She is the pop rock chic and really good; a fan favorite.

Bryan Keith (Team Adam) – “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls

Judges: Blake says Bryan sounds like Neil Diamond in his lower register and it was great. Christina says she enjoys his singing voice. What really gets her excited is how the song builds. He really owns it and loves it, that is important and the most passion she has seen. Adam says he is so proud of him. He has a comforting and inviting way about him.

Michaela Paige (Team Blake) – “Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees

Judges: Cee Lo says this was the best performance of the night! She is a sight to see and worked the audience. She would have been great on his team. Adam says he always thought she was great but tonight he is now a fan. This was her best performance yet. Blake says he is so excited about hearing what the other judges are saying. It was the best performance of the night and she nailed everything. Plus, her hairdo even rivals Cee Lo’s. (Very cute Blake.)

Julio Cesar Castillo (Team Blake) – “El Rey” by Jose Alfredo Jimenez

Judges: Christina says with the first standing ovation of the night, she knows he made all the Latino people out there proud. It was passionate, rich and had heart. She loves his bravado. Blake says he had to find a way to get everyone to be emotionally involved and he did a really good job.

Loren Allred (Team Adam) – “All Around the World” by Lisa Stansfield

Judges: Cee Lo says she has always been one of his favorites and she really capped it off with the high notes. Good job. Adam says he loves this song choice but he wants to hear more of what she did at the end with her upper register. He wants to see her back again and wants to hear more of that because it was so good.

Amada Brown (Team Cee Lo) – “Dream On” by Aerosmith

Judges: Christina says she went for it and she brought it home tonight. Adam says this is by far the best performance of the night. She was a rock star and unbelievable. Enough said, just listen to this one for yourself.
