WARNING: THE VOICE SEASON 3 SPOILERS AHEAD!
This post contains The Voice spoilers from Thursday’s elimination results show. Please stop reading here if you do not want to know what happened or who went home on The Voice this week!
The Voice season 3 usually airs on Mondays and Tuesdays, but this week it is a whole different ball game. The normal Tuesday night show was bumped by presidential election coverage and moved to Wednesday night. A special The Voice elimination result show was added on Thursday to celebrate the unveiling of the season 3 top 12. So here we are, ready to bring you the results on who made the top 12 and who was eliminated on The Voice 2012 this week!
I think we can be pretty sure (I hope) that Amanda Brown, killing “Dream On” in the video above, will not be eliminated on The Voice season 3 in this round. If she is, that would just be criminal. As for the rest of Team Adam Levine, I’m hoping to see Bryan Keith and Melanie Martinez make it through. I think Loren Allred is very likely going to be eliminated on The Voice this time around. Joselyn Rivera I could take or leave.
Over on Team Cee Lo Green, my best bet is on Trevin Hunte moving on to The Voice top 12 for season 3. I find it incredibly difficult to make any other predictions for this team though. Cody Belew was terrific last night. MacKenzie Bourg is too cute to resist and he’s got talent as well as the adorable factor. Nicholas David is a great singer and gives fabulous performances, but he may just be too old school. As for Diego Val, I just have have no idea what the voters are going to think of him.
On Team Christina Aguilera, I will personally smack anyone who doesn’t vote to put De’Borah through to The Voice season 3 top 12. Seriously! When it comes to the rest of Team Christina, however, I honestly just don’t really care all that much who moves on and who doesn’t. They have all had great performances and not-so-great nights. I guess I kind of hope Sylvia Yacoub will get a pass in this round. I find her intriguing. I think Adriana Louise could find herself being voted off The Voice 2012 this week, but she could get a save from Christina Aguilera.
Lastly, on Team Blake Shelton, I really, really want Terry McDermott to get through. He’s just such a natural, gorgeous talent. I’ll also give a nod to Cassadee Pope, although at heart I think she’s already had her chance at fame and fortune as the front of a moderately successful band. She really should have been able to use that as a launching pad and not taken up the spot of a newer, fresher singer on The Voice season 3. Still, I think she will make it through tonight to The Voice top 12. The other two members of the team I could just take or leave, so whatever happens doesn’t bother me much.
Here’s the lineup for the The Voice Top 20 going into the elimination results show on Thursday night:
- Team Adam Levine: Amanda Brown, Loren Allred, Bryan Keith, Melanie Martinez and Joselyn Rivera
- Team Cee Lo Green: Trevin Hunte, Cody Belew, MacKenzie Bourg, Nicholas David and Diego Val
- Team Christina Aguilera: De’Borah, Dez Devon, Devyn DeLoera, Adriana Louise and Sylvia Yacoub
- Team Blake Shelton: Liz Davis, Terry McDermott, Collin McLoughlin, Julio Cesar Castillo and Cassadee Pope

RECAP: Once again, to begin the show tonight, we have to take a moment to stare at Cee Lo Green. This man has more outrageous costumes than Cher and Lady Gaga combined. (Okay, maybe not that many, but good grief.) Tonight he shows off an Asian kimono look and we really wish he would have left that in the closet. Or in a burning trash barrel.
Thankfully we can tear our eyes away from Cee Lo and watch The Voice season 3 contestants in action as the members of Team Adam and Team Blake take the stage to perform “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” by Kelly Clarkson. I will never really get why producers of singing reality TV shows think these group numbers are a good idea. They generally always suck and just remind me of those terrible Brady Bunch musical numbers… shudder.
Now that we’re done with that, thank goodness, let’s get on to some elimination results. The first team up to learn their fate is Team Adam!
The two members of Team Adam chosen by the votes to move on are… Amanda Brown and Bryan Keith!
Now team coach Adam Levine has to decide which person he is going to choose as the third person from his team to move on to the top 12.
He has made his pick and it will be… Melanie Martinez!
Now we have another guest performance, this time from Adam Levine’s band Maroon 5 with “Daylight”.
Oh look, another guest performance! Say hello to The Voice season 2 winner Jermaine Paul with “I Believe in this Life”.
Finally, on to more results. Now up to learn who will move on and who will go home is Team Blake. The two contestants picked by the voters to be part of the top 12 are… Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope! Nothing really unexpected there.
Now Blake Shelton has to decide the third person to move on from his team and represent him in the top 12.
He has chosen… Michaela Paige! I’m actually kind of surprised he did not go for country girl Liz Davis.
And now we have another one of those rather annoying group numbers with Team Cee Lo and Team Christina. Let it be over soon…
And it is. Yeah! Let’s move on to some more results now and we hvae Team Christina up on the block. The voters have made their choices and the two to move on thanks to the viewing public are… Dez Duron and Sylvia Yacoub!
WHAT? Really? You did NOT choose De’Borah? Come on! Christina better save her!
Christina Aguilera now has to announce her third pick for the top 12 and it is… Adriana Louise! FFS!!!! Really? That is SO not right. Adriana Louise is not even HALF the singer that De’Borah is. I am seriously pissed over that one.
Finally we have the elimination results for Team Cee Lo and let’s hope these are not so crappy as the ones from Team Christina. The voters have decided on their two to move on and they are… Trevin Hunte and Nicholas David! I am really kind of surprised by Nicholas moving on, even though I do like him. I just thought the voters would be more likely to go for cutie MacKenzie Bourg.
The last person going through to the top 12 will be chosen by Cee Lo Green.
He has decided the third person from his team to go to the next round is… Cody Belew. Alright, I can’t argue with that one too much.
Wow, De’Borah is gone. I thought she’d end up in the final three. That just bites. I’m going to go eat chocolate now to combat the depression of that bad decision by America and Christina.
