Former Giants NFL star Tiki Barber is leaving his pregnant wife Ginny Barber for his 23-year-old mistress, Traci Lynn Johnson. According to media reports, the football player turned Today Show correspondent has dumped his wife of eleven years, who is only a month away from giving birth.
Ginny Barber, who is pregnant with twins, reportedly found out about the affair late last year after her husband allegedly moved out of their home in Manhattan. Tiki Barber confirmed the split with his wife on Tuesday in a press statement.
“After 11 years of marriage, Ginny and I have decided to separate,” Barber said. “The decision was a painful one, but we are moving forward amicably and will continue to work together to raise our children with the love and dedication they have always known.”
Tiki Barber and Traci Lynn Johnson, a former NBC intern, were photographed together last month at a documentary screening. They also allegedly traveled together to Senegal last year while Ginny Barber was three months pregnant.
Tiki and Ginny Barber have been married for 11 years and have two sons together, in addition to the two babies on the way. Adding insult to injury, Tiki Barber expressed avid disgust in 2004 to the New York Post over his father’s abandonment of him and his mother.
“I don’t give a f**k that the relationship didn’t work,” Barber said of his father leaving his mother. “Not only did he abandon her, I felt like he abandoned us for a lot of our lives. I have a hard time forgiving that.”
Guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree after all…

There’s a difference in abandoning a (troubled) marriage and leaving your family out in the cold. His father left, never was heard from again and never gave any form of support. Tiki is getting a divorce, like millions do every year, and will continue to be there, at the very least, financially for her and, more than likely, paternally for the children. I hate to pull “da card” but, there’s a noticible double standard when an African American male does anything questionable. Look at Tiger. This past year, at least 3 U.S. Congress members had affairs. One mans wife was even dying of Cancer! Yet Tiger and his escapades trumps the scrupples & moral fiber of the men running our country and making our laws. The media in this country is a joke. You are blessed with two boys and two more babies on the way. When you look into your kids’ eyes, you must see yourself. And a part time Dad leaves gaps in a kid’s heart that may never be fulfilled.
Sometimes we all go through changes, and must find a new direction in our daily lives. Sometimes transitions from on stage (career) in life to another can lead to uncertainty, confusion of the mind , heart , and soul.
Now, I bet that if you tried hard to win back you wife,,,,, you could, And I bet that your wife Ginny would forgive You and the both of you could rebuild your family. Family comes first. Your family will always be there for you if you are there for them.
