Twilight franchise star Robert Pattinson has shot down rumors he is up for a tasty part in The Hunger Games movie sequel, Catching Fire. According to the hunky Twilight series star, the rumors were so hot, he actually called his agent to make sure he really wasn’t in line for the Catching Fire part.
In an interview with USA Today, Robert Pattinson denied he was in negotiations to play the part of tribute Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games movie sequel, Catching Fire. However, even he was left wondering if he might have missed a memo somewhere because the rumor had spread so far and fast.
“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in ‘The Hunger Games’,” Pattinson said. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, ‘No.’ [My agent] was like, ‘No one’s going to offer you that part.’ I was like, ‘Thanks for the reassurance.'”
The character of handsome tribute winner Finnick Odair appears in both Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Finnick plays a strong supporting role in portions of the books and eventually becomes friends with leading protaganist Katniss Everdeen (played in the films by Jennifer Lawrence). Speculation over who will play the part of Finnick is a hot topic among The Hunger Games fans.
