Wesley Snipes won’t be with his family over Christmas

Wesley Snipes is due to begin his three-year stint in prison tomorrow, and it looks like that’s exactly what’s going to happen, despite his asking for leniency from the federal judge overseeing his sentencing.  Snipes, who has four kids, asked the judge if his sentence start date could be moved from December to January, so that his children wouldn’t have to suffer without their dad over the holidays.

The judge, however, had little sympathy, stating that Snipes has had nearly three years since his sentencing to organize his affairs.  There’s also the point that if being with his children was that important to him, perhaps he should have thought about that before deciding not to pay his taxes and to hide it from Uncle Sam.  Them’s the breaks.
