A judge has approved the validity of the Whitney Houston will, and the late superstar’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, will be the primary inheritor of her mother’s fortune. Houston’s estate is valued at around $20 million in cash and assets.

Bobbi Kristina, the singer’s daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, is listed as the sole beneficiary of the Whitney Houston will. Under the terms of the will, Bobbi Kristina will be granted access to Houston’s fortune in stages under a trust arrangement. She will receive a hefty chunk when she turns 21, another portion at 25 and access to the remainder when she turns 30.

The Whitney Houston will was originally filed back in 1993, just a month before the singer gave birth to Bobbi Kristina. Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles last month. The official Whitney Houston cause of death has still not been released, as toxicology tests are still pending. From information gathered so far, however, it seems likely she died from an accidental fatal mix of alcohol and prescription drugs.

If something should happen to Bobbi Kristina, the estate would be passed to ex-husband Bobby Brown, Houston’s mother Cissy, her dad John and various other relatives. Houston’s jewelry would go to her mother, and if the group could not agree on how the other assets would be divided, all of it would be sold and converted to cash for distribution to the beneficiaries.
