Who Will Replace American Idol Judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez?

There has been mass speculation on who will serve as the new American Idol 2013 judges when the new season premieres in September. With the departure of both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, rumors are rampant about who will replace them on American Idol season 12.

Among those possibly being considered as American Idol 2013 judges is superstar Mariah Carey. If original American Idol judge Randy Jackson sticks around for season 12, he would have the inside track to bring Carey on board since he serves as the singer’s manager.

Other music luminaries rumored to be in the running to be one of the new American Idol 2013 judges are: former Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, 19-year-old Miley Cyrus, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, Jon Bon Jovi, P. Diddy, Fergie, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson, and — believe it or not — former American Idol judge Paula Abdul.
Perry has reportedly said she would not be available if asked. As for the idea of former American Idol judge Paula Abdul returning, that is probably most unlikely — despite the fact the show has never been the same since she left. Rumor has it producers are wanting to seriously freshen up the show for American Idol 2013 and feature all fresh faces.

The most likely of all the names circulating out there so far is probably Mariah Carey, especially because of her connection to American Idol judge Randy Jackson if he sticks around in some capacity.

“They are in serious talks with Mariah and it’s very close to being a done deal,” a source allegedly told Us Magazine. “And they will move Randy into a more mentoring role.”
