WARNING: THE X FACTOR 2012 SEASON 2 SPOILERS AHEAD!

This post contains The X Factor 2012 season 2 spoilers from the premiere week, episode 2. Please stop reading here if you do not want to know what happened!

On The X Factor season 2, creator and judge Simon Cowell might not turn out to be the meanest voice on the panel! New The X Factor 2012 judge Britney Spears has been giving the contestants plenty of brutally honest opinions so far and I hear she’ll only be getting bolder with her commentary from here on out.

Last night on The X Factor 2012 season 3 premiere, there were quite a few terrible auditions (as usual), a few good ones and a couple of truly standout performances. My personal favorites were cute as a button rocker girl Jennel Garcia and heart-breaking Jillian Jensen, who left me and the judges in tears.

Tonight, I am hoping we will see some even more spectacular performances in this round of The X Factor season 3 auditions. I’m also looking forward to what new and painful quips Britney Spears will be dinging the failed contestants with. After so many years of struggling with her mental and emotional issues, it is nice to see Britney back in the saddle again dishing out some tough love to wannabe singers who just need to understand they don’t have the chops to make it in the industry.

The first act up tonight in The X Factor season 3 auditions is rapper/singer Johnny Maxwell doing an original song. He has a good, positive vibe for this style of music and although he’s a little rough around the edges, he’s got something going on.

Judges: The judges like him a lot. L. A. says he is amazing. Britney thinks he is fun and will have a record deal coming for him in the future. Demi says he’s cute (of course) and he has swag. Simon says he was a bit concerned at the start but he got better and shows ambition. He is through to the next round.

Now we have our first horrid audition of the evening with Lexa Berman. I really don’t understand why some of these people don’t know they suck. I know I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. If I didn’t know, my friends would tell me (and have). Where do they find these people? Anyway, she is terrible.

Judges: Simon calls her Jersey Shore meets the Kardashians with no musical talent. Britney asks for the noise to please stop and tells her she is boring. Demi tells her she can’t sing at all and has no reason to have so much confidence when she is so bad.

Then we have some more bad performances that are just best left behind in the past where they belong.

Next up is Jason Brock doing “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel and he is awesome. He is also seriously flaming but in a very cute way. He brings the crowds and most of the judges to their feet with a standing ovation.

Judges: Um, standing ovation, so it’s a yes. Simon abstains from standing but he gives his approval as well.

Here’s another terrible singer and this time he is doing terrible things to “Circus”. Insane Britney Spears fan Patrick Ford tells her how much he loves her over and over. She looks about to call the the police when he finally leaves the stage, devastated at his rejection.

Carly Rose Sonenclar, 13, is the next performer singing “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone. The judges (and I) are floored by the huge voice coming out of this little girl. The audience goes wild!

Judges: Standing ovation all around. They are tripping over themselves to praise the talent of this 13-year-old with the voice of a diva three times her age. Britney says everyone has to love this girl. L. A. says she is obviously an old soul. Simon says a star has been born on the stage tonight. Demi says she wants to go out and buy her record right now. Carly is on her way to the next round and she is going to be a serious contender!
